    I wouldnt say it was controversial persee.
    It is a live action cartoon of American life and history .
    Like a crippled man being angry is cliche .
    A permiscious woman with an abusive childhood is sad, but cliche .
    Retarded man is silly and dumb .
    Certainly Forest Gump at least had quite visionary financial advice,”get investing in those tech stocks !” I wish I would have gotten the message at 13!
    Forest Gump certainly plays with rated R notions like when Gump’s mom bangs the principle to have her son pass school grades .
    The treatment of A.I.D.S. Is comically addressed .
    Forest Gump to me is a film that tries to be everything, but ends up being nothing.
    I would have been insulted if it was about my generation; the Millennials. Fortunately most of the film interferes and reimagines 1960s and 1970s history with very little retelling or reimagining of 1980s/1990s . There’s a reason why I don’t watch Stranger Things. I lived the real 1980s/1990s childhood experience; I don’t want Hollywood retelling it to me . I recognize Gump as a relic and fad of the early 1990s; a failed, but interesting experiment with large spans of time and with CGI effects . It did not offend me except for papering over heavy topics like child abuse, blackmail, aids, disabled veterans,etc. I just do not believe the movie will be timeless because it is all about the past .
