So the girls admitted he never did anything they didn't ask for, yet he's still the creep? They straight up lied about the guy to get ahead in the game.
The season following this was “winners at war” Richard Hatch explained how he was already invited, however he was removed from the cast as result of this season. If you recall he was accused by Sue of being “inappropriate”. Despite there being no evidence or any footage of such behaviour and all just speculation they still proceeded to remove Richard because of public perception. Just goes to show it doesn’t matter what is fact, it just matters what is perception.
It’s crazy how they recorded this dude being a creep and just a straight up predator and still nothing happened till a staff member got harassed. They are literally talking about him grabbing them and getting mad handsy and the production team didn’t care. I could see if it was scripted for views why but if not they allowed this to go on way too long.
He said he accidentally touched the crew lady’s thigh as he was getting on the boat. In all my forty plus years on this planet, I have never accidentally put my hand on a woman’s thigh.
The girls reactions when she slapped his arm after hearing they were crying about it, it very telling because victims do not act that way or someone who is uncomfortable..esp we do not know every single moment on that island and this is an extremely edited show and does not show every moment. we are seasons deep from this one and the amount of girls touching guys through out survivor history is just as bad if not more so because they brag about it through out seasons and yet no reaction, they wanted to created a drama and make themselves out to be the heroes for doing something.. it is so plain to see
no matter what you make of what happened with Dan off-camera, the actions he made even in the few clips that we see in full 4k should have gotten him removed. A failure in casting, a failure in production, and a failure of a season.
Janet being ostricized for sticking up for the women is one of the worst events to ever unfold on survivor. To lie to her face and make her feel "out of the loop" after she just put her shot at a million dollars on the line to protect them is disgraceful. As far as I am concerned, Missy and Elizabeth are enablers and don't deserve to be on the season either. All of the shining character moments that they had are immediately undercut.
It really pains me because this really could have been a fantastic season. Pre-merge with Kellee was great, Jamal and Elaine both brought a lot of charisma and character to the season, and the return of Boston Rob and Sandra (even if only as mentors), and I can't help but feel like without Dan there from the jump, some of the more underedited castaways could have had more screentime to flesh them out a litte. Hell, we barely see the winner make any stratigic play other than "stick with the OG alliance, win immunity, wait for chaos to ensue". A perfectly valid strategy, but the fact that we are more privy to Dan (who doesn't deserve to be there) over people like Jason, Molly, or Jack who are all but edited out of the season is absurd.
If someone is touching you, tell them flat out, don't touch me. The fact that their joking about it and that one young lady trying to talk to him but she's making light of it… Ladies, stop. If anyone is invading your space like that, is inappropriate, you can't take it lightly.
It might not even be sleaze.. Dan seems to have some sort of obsessive-compulsive need to touch women that are near him. But that's no excuse, and if his behaviour was negatively impacting others then his removal is justified.
I just watched an earlier season where you have people tearing other people's clothes off to push a big wooden ball across a muddy field, but in 2019 a guy touches a woman's hair or leg, and he gets kicked out of the entire game.
Inappropriate behaviour is a very disgusting topic.
Decades ago, whilst waiting for the interviewer, a male staff asked me to sit on his lap. This happened at one male staff's table PLUS his other colleagues were around. Stunned was my first reaction. Then came shock. Never heard of such things. I was in my late teens at that time.
Upon finding out that the interviewer is a HR manager, I asked to see the HR manager immediately. Coincidentally, the HR manager approached me, with the idea of leading me to a meeting room to conduct the interview.
In a loud voice, I told the HR manager what had transpired. And I pointed to the male staff. Nobody talked. Silence. After about 5 minutes, feeling disgusted, I asked everyone if they were ok if that male staff asked their wives, their sisters, their daughters to sit on his (that male staff)'s lap. Thank goodness for my brains working in overdrive, I shouted "it's called violation, harrassment and inappropriate behaviour". I didn't study law at that time. I then turned to the HR manager, told him that I will never work in any company which employs staff displaying inappropriate behaviour. As I turned to exit the office, I realised that my uncle (Dad's brother) happened to be the Chief of Employers Association. Let's just say that both my Dad and his brother were fuming about the incident. My Uncle wrote an official letter demanding an explanation.
A team of us (my Dad, my Uncle, his legal team and I) went to that company's office the next day. They didn't expect me to lodge a report.
Verdict – the company terminated all their male employees immediately. The HR manager was given a stern warning.
As for me, I pursued law with full support from my parents, my Uncle and his entire office. They realised that inappropriate behaviour and harrassment could be happening in all organisations with unreported incidents. And my focus was on that.
The fact that even though Dan was literally ejected, that he still got confessionals, was insane. Obviously sometimes they have to show some confessional to continue the story but he got genuine just casual conversations. That’s not how it should be, he should be erased from the storyline outside of the events that took place
