    How can anyone disagree with Bill Nye the Science Guy. He knows what he's talking about and to disagree with him should have some kind of proof, if not backed up by science, should be at minimum something

    If ham ken believed that natural laws
    change over time,why would he believe in Bible because it was written 2000 years ago,so the natural laws must be different now

    Idea of evolution or concept there is no God is a theory always has been. Therefore, it's on those that prescribed to it, to prove it. This means Bill should not try to speak from a position of authority. In fact, evolution is taxpayers funded in the schools, and the only reason that crap is taught. Science in thw schools is good and great, it the evolution and concepts the Bill tries to promote that are harmful, misleading and slowing the progression of the intellect of our nation. It's the first step of killing the moral compass Inventions, everything made and built is by way of the LAWS of GOD. Without these laws, there would be no us. Bill had several questions answered, and he willfully chose to be ignorant. Meaning he looked the other way and ignored the facts.
    Anyone who name drops is clearly Not confident.

    If you had a bunch of artwork and didn't know who the artist was, you would analyze that art, try understand the art, the colours/materials, the style… All things about the art talks about the artist,

    I submit it thus that if you believe in God and wanted to know him, you MUST study his work, that is you study what you believe he created, the universe,

    Therefore you MUST be scientifically literate! No excuses

    I'm a believer but the performance of Dr Nye seemed more informed than Mr Ham. Mr Ham quoting the Bible with a scientist exhibits a lack of formal logic (begging the questions) trying to prove the Bible and young earth by just ASSUMING the Bible and young earth. I was expecting strong arguments against Old age universe but all I got was: "oh we weren't there so all the scientists just have to trust my interpretation of the Bible because of this verse"

    Debates like these help to promote the view that believers are unreasonable people

    Science can be pretty subjective. We have all seen things claimed as "facts" then those facts get disproved. Science disproves science.

    I would like to ask Mr. Ham (and all fundamentalists): what evidence do you have that the Bible is literal, historical truth? Ken Ham spent much of his time defending his positions by using biblical references, but he never mentioned what evidence he has to support the claim that the Bible contains literal historical truth.

    This has been changed. Since this debate, o think it was ten or something like that years ago, there are evidences that show animals that were aquatic creatures that ended up in dried lands buried and other evidence that has proven Bill Nye’s opening question answered.

    Makes you really wonder whether Ken Ham actually believes himself in authorities (appeal to authority fallacy) or just uses them as tactics, as every fallacy can be used as rethorics.

    We know the Bible is real.. our own mind bears witness to that. That’s why Jesus said you accept it, or reject it. It’s why we are so stubborn to read it more than anything else. Sure you can try to find all the physical facts you want to prove it, but you don’t need to. Just read it. And that’s the answer for everyone, because the whole world, doesn’t want to read it. It’s the only thing that the world is running from, everything else is accepted. It’s not that hard to figure out. I completely understand using science to prove stuff, we should be I hope!it’s not like our science is wrong. Look at Nye, he knows his stuff, he’s incredibly intelligent, he gets it,because it’s plain evidence, assuming our techniques are valid. But no matter how much you try to prove and piece together, it’s not going to do anything. Many Christian’s struggle with the age of the earth, because God clearly said 6 days. But the Bible obviously didn’t come from thin air did it? It came from somewhere, and managed to survive through the test of time, to make it to us. And if God snapped his fingers and said let there be uranium, and we take that piece if uranium and carbon date it, of course it’s going to come out at 46 billion years or whatever the case, because that’s just our tools for measure. Even Einstein converted to the idea of there being a God on his own, because according to our laws of physics, and nature, you can’t start something from nothing. But yet you’ll have someone who is broken, lost, despaired, who comes across the Bible with a hair of faith, and they are a changed person forever and can’t stop talking about it. Other religions?, well, I like to compare all side by side, as would be reasonable. And you’ll find, the Bible accurately describes every other religion, and other religions point to the Bible. My personal testimony, I have believed ever since I was little, not imaginary, but belief and it changed my heart. On our own, we can’t change ourselves.. our hearts, look at priests and monks who strive for inner meditation just to try to better themselves, but still find after all their life that they just struggle to do it yet a couple verses of the Bible will shoot a hole straight through you. And change you from the inside out. Which is why no one, on the whole planet, wants to read it.
