A Middletown man named Daveion Wright, 31, has been indicted for the sexual exploitation of a toddler. He is accused of sharing the explicit content involving this abuse on the social media platform Snapchat. The federal grand jury returned their indictment on March 20.
The allegations against Wright claim that he had violated the 2-year-old victim on at least five occasions in January 2024, sharing evidence of the criminal act online. Separate local charges have also been filed against Wright, and these currently remain unresolved.
The general public has been encouraged by law enforcement officials to provide any information that might indicate other minors have been similarly victimised by the accused. The FBI can be contacted with this information on the following number: 513-979-8821.
This case of alleged sexual exploitation of a minor, which is a federal crime, could result in a prison sentence ranging from 15 to 30 years if Wright is found guilty. The charges against Wright were announced by Kenneth L. Parker, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio; Cheryl Mimura, Acting Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cincinnati Division; and Middletown Acting Police Chief Eric Crank.
The case is being represented by Assistant United States Attorney Kyle J. Healey. It must be emphasised that an indictment merely contains allegations – under the law, all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court.
