Climate Change and Human Trafficking: Protecting Newly Vulnerable Populations

Climate change is one of the most significant challenges of our time. Not only has it destroyed land and communities and displaced millions of people from their homes and livelihoods, but it has devastated the social fabric of people’s lives. These disruptions of governments, lives and families have weakened the already fragile protections of those who become hungry and homeless and made them more vulnerable to becoming victims of human trafficking. Women and girls are at particular risk of exploitation.

This panel focuses on how to create structures from the ground up that build long-term resilience in vulnerable populations to prevent trafficking. Such programs must encompass disaster mitigation strategies and have ongoing support from national and international entities focused on eradicating exploitation.

good luck with that. you'll need it because not one government around the world is interested in stopping the destruction of the earth. some may say otherwise but they are liars…take Germany…big words big promises but they have produced more climate-damaging substances each year. And all western countries (and now the Chinese too) love meat…every day….happy environment killing.
