Vancouver police released a closed-circuit TV clip on Twitter on May 5, 2020, pleading for help to identify a suspect who punched a 22-year-old Asian woman on the street on April 12. While the motive for the attack is unknown, police described the act as “disgusting” and said that anti-Asian hate crime in the city on Canada’s west coast is on the rise amid the coronavirus outbreak.
