Elliot Garrity, 44, and Daniel McLoughlin, 37, ran a ‘Deliveroo for drugs’ service from a black cab, using it to deliver drugs to users during the lockdown in 2020. They boasted of making nearly £15,000 in a week through this illegal delivery service, with Garrity making deliveries in his black cab after orders were placed by drug users. The operation was disguised as taxi fares, with customers able to pay using a card machine. McLoughlin, using the handles ‘Tabooky’ and ‘Wearyspear’, sent EncroChat messages bragging about earning £15,000 in a single week with the “best drugs line ever”. The men hired individuals to help with deliveries and their operation ended when they were arrested by Merseyside Police during raids at several addresses. McLoughlin faced a charge of exporting a controlled drug by sending ketamine to a storage locker in Australia, using vacuum sealed Starbucks coffee bags.
The court heard that McLoughlin and Garrity had plans to expand their drug supply line to operate 24 hours a day with multiple drivers working for them. Despite the closure of the Encro server in June 2020, the men continued their illegal business. The court was informed that the operation ended when police raided their locations. McLoughlin was arrested at home, where officers found hand written lists and a map used to guide the cab to deliver drugs efficiently. His defense counsel stated that he had worked hard to overcome his addiction and was looking to make a positive contribution to society upon release. On the other hand, Garrity’s defense emphasized that although he played a leading role in the operation, he was not the overall leader of the conspiracy. He accepted his guilt early on and was prepared for a custodial sentence.
McLoughlin was sentenced to 14 years and four months for his role as the mastermind behind the drug operation, being described as an “organised, ambitious, and wholly unrepentant drug trafficker”. Garrity was sentenced to eight years while Bolan and Smith received suspended sentences with unpaid work orders. Despite their efforts to evade police by using encrypted phones, their operation was eventually uncovered, and the defendants faced consequences for their criminal activities. Detective Inspector Mike Robinson emphasized the police’s commitment to pursuing drug traffickers and organized criminal groups, ensuring that those who believe they are above the law will face justice. The case shed light on the dangers and consequences of drug trafficking and the lengths criminals go to carry out their illegal activities, ultimately leading to their conviction and sentencing.

I mean, if theyre gonna deliver, might as well throw in some snacks!
Why stop at snacks? How about a full-course meal with that delivery? If theyre going to make us wait, they might as well make it worth our while. Ill take some snacks, a drink, and dessert too! Whos with me?
Who needs a regular Deliveroo when you can get crisps and prosecco from drug dealers?
Thats a reckless and dangerous attitude to have. Supporting illegal activities like buying from drug dealers puts you and others at risk. Its not worth risking your safety for a bag of crisps and a bottle of prosecco. Stay safe and make responsible choices.
I mean, if theyre gonna be drug dealers, might as well offer snacks, right?
Offering snacks doesnt make drug dealing acceptable. Its still illegal and harmful. Justifying criminal behavior with snacks is absurd. Lets focus on addressing the root causes of drug dealing instead of trivializing it with snacks.
Why settle for crisps and prosecco when you can have a full meal?
I mean, at least they were offering snacks with their illegal substances, right?
Seriously? Just because they offered snacks doesnt make selling illegal substances okay. Lets not normalize criminal behavior. Its important to hold people accountable for breaking the law, regardless of whether they provide snacks or not.
Shouldnt drug dealers focus on their core service instead of adding snacks?
Hey, snacks are just another way for drug dealers to attract customers and make more money. Its all about diversifying their business and staying competitive. Plus, who doesnt love a little snack with their purchase? Just smart business strategy if you ask me.
I mean, if youre gonna buy drugs might as well get some crisps and prosecco too, right?
I mean, if theyre gonna sell drugs anyway, might as well offer snacks, right?
Thats a dangerous mindset to have. Enabling illegal activities by providing snacks only encourages more drug use and perpetuates harmful behavior. Selling drugs is not something to be trivialized or normalized. There are better ways to address addiction and support those in need.
I mean, if theyre gonna sell drugs, might as well throw in some snacks, right?
I get what youre saying, but normalizing drug use with snacks is not the move. Lets not make light of a serious issue. Selling drugs is illegal and harmful, no matter what extra incentives are thrown in. Prioritize health and safety over convenience and indulgence.
Who needs a regular Deliveroo when you can get crisps and prosecco from a drug dealer cab? 🤷♀️
Um, maybe because supporting illegal activities is not cool? Just a thought. Stick with legit delivery services for your snacks and drinks, not sketchy deals. Prioritize safety and legality over convenience, always.
I mean, if theyre gonna deal drugs anyway, might as well offer snacks, right?

This is like a twisted version of wine and cheese delivery, who knew!
I love the idea! A little twist can make things more exciting. Who says wine and cheese have to be traditional? Embrace the unexpected and enjoy the ride. Cheers to trying something new!
Can you imagine ordering prosecco and crisps like takeout? Wild times we live in!

I cant believe drug dealers are stepping up their game with Deliveroo-style service!
Who knew drug dealing could be so classy? Prosecco and crisps, anyone?
Should we applaud their creativity or condemn their illegal actions?
Creativity doesnt excuse breaking the law. Condemn their illegal actions, no question about it. Lets not glorify criminal behavior under the guise of creativity. Rules exist for a reason, and breaking them shouldnt be celebrated.
Are we sure this isnt just a marketing tactic for a new snack delivery service? 🤔
I mean, who wouldnt want a side of prosecco with their crisps? 🍾🥂
This is wild! Who knew drug dealing could be so classy? Thoughts?
Wow, wild how drug dealers are stepping up their game with Deliveroo-style services!
Are we really glamorizing illegal activities now? Drug dealing is a serious issue that destroys lives and communities. Lets not applaud criminals for their innovative tactics. Lets focus on supporting legal, safe, and ethical businesses instead.
