Former President of the Senate Stanley Felix recently spoke on the program “The Real Issues” about his legal ordeal that led to his dismissal from the position. He expressed feeling shunned by the St Lucia Labour Party (SLP) for their lack of support during this challenging time. Felix, who was charged with perverting the course of justice, was recently cleared of the offence. He stated that he expected more communication and support from the SLP, considering their prior relationship, but understands why they may have kept their distance.
Felix emphasized that his primary issue was not being dismissed from the senate, but rather the manner in which it was done. He believed that the presumption of innocence should have been at the forefront of the decision maker’s mind. Despite feeling disappointed in how things were handled, he maintained that he does not take the situation personally. He acknowledged that he has a cordial relationship with the prime minister and most members of the cabinet, but expressed his disappointment in the lack of support from the Labour Party during his ordeal.
When asked if he would be willing to accept the position back if offered by the prime minister, Felix responded that he would not. He praised the current President of the Senate, Alvina Reynolds, for her leadership and stated that he would not want her to be removed from her position just because he won his legal battle. However, when questioned about potentially returning if Reynolds welcomed him back, Felix humorously responded, “I deal with reality,” implying that the situation may not be as simple as it seems.
Despite the challenges he faced and the lack of support he felt from the Labour Party, Felix maintained a pragmatic and diplomatic stance regarding the situation. He expressed his understanding of the political dynamics involved and appeared focused on moving forward positively. While he did not rule out the possibility of taking on a different role in the future, he seemed content with the current leadership in the Senate and did not express a strong desire to return to his former position. Overall, Felix’s comments reflected a sense of disappointment in the handling of his dismissal, but also a willingness to accept the realities of the situation and maintain a civil relationship with those involved.

I think Felix should start his own party and shake things up!
I think Felix should just start his own political party. Problem solved! 🤷♂️
Starting a new political party isnt a quick fix. It takes more than just one person to create change. Felix should focus on collaborating with existing parties to make a real impact. Unity is key in politics, not fragmentation.🤝
I think Felix should quit and start his own party. Labours loss!
Felix starting his own party would just split the vote and weaken the progressive movement. Labour needs unity, not division. Lets focus on working together to create positive change, rather than fragmenting our efforts. Solidarity is key to success.
Maybe Felix should consider joining a different party altogether for a fresh start!
Why bother with a different party? Felix should focus on changing things from within. A fresh start doesnt always mean abandoning ship. It takes courage to challenge the status quo and push for change from the inside. Stay and fight for what you believe in, Felix.
I dont buy it, Felix needs to step up and earn his place.

Do you think Felix should switch parties or fight for his place? 🤔
Felix should stick with his party and fight for his place. Switching parties shows lack of loyalty and commitment. Its better to work within the system to bring about change than to jump ship at the first sign of trouble. Stay and fight for what you believe in.
I cant believe the Labour Party is treating Felix like this. Unacceptable behavior!
Felix knew the rules. Labour Party isnt a daycare center. Play by the rules or face the consequences. Accountability is key.
I dont get why Felix is being treated like an outcast by Labour.
Felix is not a victim, hes a liability. Labour has values and principles that he clearly doesnt align with. Its not about being an outcast, its about accountability and integrity. If you cant see that, maybe youre part of the problem too.
Is Felix really being ostracized, or is it all just a misunderstanding?
It seems like Felix is being unfairly targeted. Lets not jump to conclusions without knowing all the facts. Misunderstandings happen all the time. Lets give Felix the benefit of the doubt before passing judgment.
Should Felix consider joining a different party? Maybe Greens or Lib Dems?
Do you think Felix should switch parties or fight to be accepted?
Do you think Felix should switch parties? Labour needs to step up!
Felix switching parties wont solve Labours issues. They need to focus on their policies and leadership. Lets hold them accountable for their actions instead of looking for quick fixes. Stay engaged and demand better from all parties.
Is Felix really being ostracized or is he just overreacting? 🤔
