    This is what happens when crooks, bullies and misers are in power. You get a socially-divided fiasco of a world we call America where the rich get richer, the working class get poorer, and the rich are allowed to extort workers and abuse power however they like. Not exactly the “land of the free” huh?

    I've been "shortened" on my paycheck a quite of few times. But I let it go. However, with the cost of living for working folks who take public transportation, which alot of time doesn't turn out to be reliable in order for us to be on time for the start of our shifts, I for one can't just say, "oh well, I'll be okay"; NO! Not no more boss. Sorry but I have to live with deadlines and financial responsibilities, too.

    No one cares when the wealthy steal from the working poor .

    Without wage theft I doubt most fast food places would be as profitable.

    CEO pay and dividends are increased by stealing from the working class.

    It's nice to see this important topic being covered by a major news source. A lot of news will cover theft from shoplifting, but never cover wage theft.

    You know it's funny how political propaganda works. The same propaganda machines that scream about following the laws when it comes to defending police brutality or punishing illegal immigration, don't make a peep when it comes to wage theft by employers. For that matter, regarding government fraud and all sorts of crime done at higher corporate and political levels, you don't hear peep about that either, do you?

    Thus, the media teaches us that the crimes of the poor are real crimes, and the crimes of the rich aren't crimes at all.

    They seriously need to check out the trucking industry all aspects of it.. You talking about a rip off job.. And drivers have caught on.. They can't find drivers because people don't want to work their lives away for free.

    How long do you work somewhere you’re not getting paid before finding a different job? Are they just working there forever hoping something will change? The fact there working more than one week not being paid doesn’t make sense…

    I worked for a company that didn’t want to pay the overtime I worked for, so I told them I had a legal right to the money and said I was gonna get an attorney so they wrote me a check for the overtime hours and decided to let me go I was only there for two weeks and they were already trying to steal my hard earned money

    Corporations are aided in their criminal wage theft, when news stations don’t report on it. I’ve seen little coverage on the recent news of Marriotts 9yrs of wage theft. I see very little coverage on wage theft at all. It’s so important yet so many news stations are ignoring it. This is wild that there are some still waiting for what they are owed. There should be interest for every day they don’t get paid. Ty for posting something on this.

    The biggest part of wage theft is not letting people use their benefits. Benefits are as much a part of wages as money is. Not letting you use them is like taking money back.

    Kroger didn't pay my for a Month during the holidays last year. Costing me Thousands of dollars and still trying to catch up.The union finally has filed a class action law suit.This is just the icings on the cake…. I called out Favoritism years ago and have endured countless abuses, everything from sexual comments to agro…mobbing management , in a totally hostile work environment . Corporations need to be held accountable and pay equal taxes

    You guys need to look at the Airlines and flight attendant schedules and salaries. Our saleries are just as nuts as this. The companies are picking and choosing how they pay based on the Railroad Act from the 1800's! Can you imagine anything from the 1800's being relevant to pay and moden work rules of the 21 century. This is the most corrupt system of pay…..

    I had a company tell me it was their policy not to pay overtime. The owner would stand by the door and write down the names of the employees that left at 5pm. I didn't last very long there.

    I worked for an HVAC shop that pulled the independent contractor scam on me. I was really shocked when I asked about my W2 and was told that I was an IC and should have been paying my own taxes.

    The federal government and corporations are hand in glove. If you blame one, blame the other, as well. The fed already takes about 40% of earnings, if not more, from poor people. Rich people pay nothing because they take depreciations and other write offs.
