The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are conducting an investigation into a stabbing incident that took place on Thursday evening in a business parking lot situated at the corner of Main Street and Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk. Two men fell victim to the violence, with their injuries necessitating immediate medical attention.
On arrival at around 10:15 p.m., Selkirk RCMP officers found no victims at the scene. However, immediate patrolling led them to the discovery of the two victims who had sought medical treatment for the wounds they sustained from the stabbing. The victims received adequate treatment and have since been discharged from the hospital.
Further investigations indicated that a single male suspect was responsible for the attack, approaching the victims before robbing and subsequently stabbing them in the upper body. Details provided have underscored that the victims were unfamiliar with the suspect, marking the incident as a random act of violence.
The RCMP officers are currently on a manhunt for the suspect, who is described as a male attired in a red hoodie and was last seen on Clandeboye Avenue in Selkirk. Despite conducting extensive vehicle patrols and even engaging the services of the Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services, the suspect remains at large.
