Digital Forensics expert Nicholas Guarino read Karen Read’s final Facebook Messenger messages to John O’Keefe on Monday afternoon in the boyfriend cop murder trial. On the day O’Keefe was pronounced dead, at 12:55am, Read messaged O’Keefe saying “I’m going home” and “See you later.” A short time later, Read sent O’Keefe “I’m back in Mansfield, your kids are home alone.”

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
