A male driver has been charged in connection to an incident where a vehicle plowed into a group of pedestrians in Melbourne’s southeast. Police reveal that the incident is suspected to have occurred following a heated disagreement in a parking lot on Thompsons Road, Cranbourne. They further allege that the driver of a green Ford Mustang accelerated vehicularly towards the group of pedestrians following the dispute and subsequently collided with them. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident.
The vicious hit-and-run caused multiple injuries among the victims. A 23-year-old Bittern woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the accident. She was quickly taken to the hospital for medical attention in the aftermath of the incident. As investigations progress, additional victims could possibly come forward or be identified by authorities.
The motorist was later apprehended and now faces several charges in relation to the incident. The 24-year-old Cranbourne man will be tried on a multitude of charges observed during the hit-and-run event.
