The Education Ministry is committed to holding another meeting with parents of students at The Lester Vaughan School, along with teachers, staff, and the company responsible for testing at the school compound. The Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw emphasized the importance of ensuring the readiness of the school for students, teachers, and staff. The Ministry wants to give parents and guardians the opportunity to interface with officials from Education, Health, and the Environment, as well as Mr. Ian Weekes, the author of the air quality and environment quality testing report.
Following complaints from some parents about feeling left out of the online meeting held on March 28, a meeting with a capacity of 100 will be scheduled to accommodate more guardians and necessary parties. The original online meeting had technical issues on the end of Mr. Weekes, who was off-island at the time. Despite the challenges, the Ministry plans to schedule another meeting with an expanded capacity to allow more parents to participate, ensuring that Mr. Weekes can give all parties his undivided attention as he returns to Barbados this week. The Ministry is determined to make the meeting happen at the earliest opportunity.
The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training is dedicated to addressing the concerns of parents and ensuring their involvement in decisions regarding their children’s return to school. Dr. Archer-Bradshaw stressed the importance of allowing parents and guardians to have a voice in the process, as well as providing them with information from relevant officials and experts. The Ministry is committed to transparency and collaboration in order to create a safe and conducive learning environment for students, teachers, and staff at The Lester Vaughan School.
It is essential for all parties involved, including parents, teachers, staff, and experts, to come together to discuss the air quality and environment quality testing results at The Lester Vaughan School. By allowing for open communication and dialogue, the Ministry aims to address any concerns or questions that parents may have about their children returning to the physical school plant. The upcoming meeting will provide an opportunity for parents to voice their opinions, gain clarity on the testing results, and engage with key stakeholders in the decision-making process.
The Ministry’s commitment to holding another meeting with parents, teachers, staff, and the testing company reflects its dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of students at The Lester Vaughan School. By providing a platform for dialogue and collaboration, the Ministry aims to address any lingering concerns or uncertainties that parents may have about their children returning to school. The upcoming meeting will allow for transparent communication, information sharing, and decision-making processes that prioritize the best interests of the students, teachers, and staff at the school.
