The Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from an embarrassing loss to the Miami Heat by defeating the Charlotte Hornets. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen led the way with 17 points each, while Georges Niang added 17 points as well. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Cavs and helped them maintain their position in the Eastern Conference standings. On the other hand, the Hornets have been struggling, losing five straight and 12 of their last 14 games.
In another game, the Brooklyn Nets snapped a six-game losing streak by beating the Toronto Raptors. Dennis Schroder scored 19 points against his former team, while Trendon Watford contributed 19 points off the bench. The Raptors, on the other hand, extended their losing streak to 11 games and are winless since March 3. The Nets’ victory was their first since March 10 and provided a much-needed morale boost for the team.
The New York Knicks dominated the Detroit Pistons behind a franchise-record 11 three-pointers from Donte DiVincenzo, who also scored a career-high 40 points. Jalen Brunson added 28 points, and Josh Hart recorded a triple-double with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Knicks’ win was their sixth in seven games, keeping them in contention for a higher seed in the Eastern Conference. On the other hand, the Pistons have now lost seven straight games.
The Atlanta Hawks pulled off a miraculous comeback against the Boston Celtics, erasing a 30-point deficit to secure a 120-118 victory. De’Andre Hunter led the way with 24 points, including a game-clinching three-pointer in the final seconds. The win was the Hawks’ biggest comeback since at least the 1997-98 season. The Celtics, despite 37 points from Jayson Tatum, saw their nine-game winning streak come to an end.
In other NBA action, the San Antonio Spurs secured a narrow 104-102 victory over the Phoenix Suns, with Jeremy Sochan leading the way with 26 points and 18 rebounds. The Houston Rockets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 110-92 behind Jalen Green’s 27-point performance. The Washington Wizards picked up their third straight win by beating the Chicago Bulls 107-105, with Jordan Poole leading the way with 23 points.
