NGC Green inaugurated its first CNG public station in Cove Estate, Tobago, making it the 13th public supply point established by the company. Previously, CNG was only available for PTSC buses in Tobago, but now members of the public can access it at Cove Industrial Estate. Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Stuart Young congratulated the company for their work in maximizing gas resources and challenged citizens to support the NGC Group. The station is modern and cashless, requiring customers to purchase a prepaid voucher for fueling.
Sales and Marketing Manager Anna-Alisa Goindoo highlighted that the station aligns with global trends in enhancing convenience and security, showcasing NGC Green’s commitment to innovation and customer service. Chief Secretary Farley Augustine commended the facility for its contribution to reducing carbon emissions and promoting green operations. NGC Group Chairman Dr. Joseph I. Khan emphasized the environmental benefits of using CNG, with lower carbon emissions contributing to a cleaner environment in Tobago.
Senator Richie Sookhai, Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport, emphasized the operational cost savings for PTSC and the opportunity to improve island-wide connectivity for commuters by offering a low-carbon, cost-effective fuel option. The official opening ceremony included a ribbon cutting and the first fill of a private vehicle at the station. Minister of Sport and Community Development Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis and Minister in the office of the Prime Minister Ayanna Webster Roy were also present at the event to mark the significance of launching Tobago’s first public CNG station.
The event showcased the commitment of NGC Green to provide innovative and sustainable energy solutions in Tobago, contributing to a cleaner and more environmentally friendly future for the island.
