The Guilderland Police Department in New York reported the arrest of two individuals from Buffalo, 22-year old Kristina Eaves and 26-year old Lawrence Colbert. The arrest involves an accusation of robbery. Eaves faces charges of first-degree robbery and petit larceny, while Colbert is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree menacing, and petit larceny.
According to the police, the alleged robbery took place when the victim was attending a meeting with a woman he met on a dating app at a Guilderland hotel. When the victim entered the hotel room, he was reportedly met by the woman, presumably Eaves, who was pointing what seemed to be a gun at him whilst demanding money. There was also another man present in the room who is assumed to be Colbert.
Further reports from the police suggest that the victim transferred money to the woman through a payment app. After leaving the hotel room, he then got in touch with the police to provide details about the incident. Law enforcement subsequently responded by tracking and locating the suspects in the same hotel room.
The police ensured safety by evacuating rooms adjacent to the one where the suspects were believed to be. This measure was done as a precaution to protect innocent bystanders from a potentially dangerous situation.
Following their arrest, both Eaves and Colbert were arraigned in the Town of Guilderland Court before being remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility. The court rejected Colbert’s bail, while Eaves’s bail was set at $25,000 in cash or a bond of $50,000.
