A 28-year-old landlord was arrested for allegedly setting his tenants’ home on fire in Akron, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred after the landlord, Ronald Frisbie III, became upset with his tenants for breaking a washer and dryer. Police initially responded to a “civil issue” at the property and handled the situation before leaving. However, officers were called back to the scene shortly after to a report of arson. Frisbie had allegedly used a keypad lock to enter the apartment and set a cardboard box on fire, filling the apartment with smoke. A witness was able to extinguish the flames, and the box was removed from the home.
Akron Fire personnel also responded to the scene to ensure the flames were fully extinguished and to air out the apartment. Frisbie was subsequently arrested and booked into the Lancaster County Prison with a bail set at $75,000. He is facing charges of arson, burglary, and two counts of reckless endangerment of another person. The motive behind the arson was reportedly Frisbie’s anger towards his tenants for damaging the appliances in the home.
The news of the landlord’s actions has shocked the community and raised concerns about the safety of tenants living in rental properties. This incident highlights the importance of proper landlord-tenant relationships and the potential consequences of disputes escalating to violent actions. It also serves as a reminder of the responsibility landlords have to ensure the safety and well-being of their tenants, regardless of any conflicts that may arise.
The case is currently under investigation by the West Earl Township Police Department, and authorities are working to gather more information about the incident. Residents of Akron and surrounding areas are urged to report any suspicious activity or concerns they may have about their living situations to the police. This incident serves as a cautionary tale for both landlords and tenants about the potential dangers of unresolved conflicts and the need for peaceful resolutions to disagreements in rental properties.
In the wake of this disturbing incident, the community is coming together to support the tenants who were affected by the arson. Local organizations and authorities are offering assistance to the victims, and efforts are being made to ensure their safety and well-being in the aftermath of the fire. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community support and solidarity in times of crisis, and efforts are being made to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

Some people value their clean clothes more than their freedom. Its a slippery slope when desperation meets poor decision-making. Life is full of choices, but some are just plain foolish. Lets hope they learn their lesson before its too late.
I bet the tenants were behind it to scam the insurance!
Cant believe the landlord did that! Tenants shouldve just fixed it themselves.
This landlord needs therapy, not jail time. Lets focus on mental health support.
Cant believe the landlord did that! Tenants shouldve fixed it themselves. Outrageous situation.
I disagree. Its the landlords responsibility to maintain the property in good condition. Tenants pay rent for a reason. Expecting them to fix major issues themselves is unfair and could lead to safety hazards. Landlords need to fulfill their obligations.
