The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) has announced scheduled power outages across certain parts of Trinidad and Tobago. These interruptions are due to planned maintenance work undertaken by the organization, focusing on maintaining and improving the power supply infrastructure in the region.
The regions that are set to be affected by these planned outages include Ortoire, Scarborough, Chaguaramas, Diego Martin, Lowlands, Kendal, Arima, Las Lomas, Cunupia, and Maraval. Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to prepare for the interruptions to minimize inconvenience.
T&TEC has extended their apologies for any disturbance these scheduled outages might cause. The move is seen as necessary for the upkeep of the power system. As part of their public service mandate, the organization tries to keep disruption to a minimum and appreciates the public’s understanding and patience.
Details of the dates and durations for the scheduled outages were shown in a series of images posted by the organization. These images contained key information about the outages planned for different days, helping affected residents and businesses plan accordingly to minimize disruption.
Notably, T&TEC leverages digital platforms to keep the public updated about power-related updates. A mobile application from Loop that allows users to customize their news feed, save articles for later reference, and view their reading history is suggested as a handy tool for users wanting to stay updated. The app is available for download on both Android and IOS platforms.
