Secrets Cabaret in Greensboro, North Carolina has been labeled as a “nuisance” property after 11 people were charged last month following a search that uncovered guns and drugs. Guilford County Superior Court Judge William Wood signed a consent judgment for a Chapter 19 Nuisance Abatement action against the property owners of JEMM LLC, who own Secrets Cabaret. The judgment was the final step in a civil nuisance abatement case brought by the City of Greensboro, which defines nuisance activities as prostitution, gambling, and the illegal possession or sale of alcoholic beverages. As per the judgment, the owners of Secrets Cabaret must sell the property within six months and cannot use it as an adult entertainment facility, gambling hall, or night club in the future.

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan expressed satisfaction with the judgment, crediting a joint effort between city officials and the ALE Nuisance Abatement Team for the resolution. Why are they focusing on a strip club when there are bigger issues?
Because people are more interested in scandalous stories than addressing real issues. Its all about clicks and views, not making a difference. Society loves drama, so the media gives them what they want. Priorities are skewed, but thats the reality we live in.
I think they should turn Secrets Cabaret into a community center instead!
Why turn a successful establishment like Secrets Cabaret into a community center? There are plenty of empty buildings that could be repurposed. Lets support local businesses and find a different location for the community center.
This just proves we need more strip clubs in the area! Whos with me?
I respectfully disagree. There are more constructive ways to support the local economy and community than promoting strip clubs. Lets focus on uplifting businesses that contribute positively to our society. Lets aim for a more wholesome and inclusive environment for everyone.
I think they should turn the club into a community center instead.
No way! The club is a vital part of the communitys nightlife and culture. We need places to socialize and have fun, not just another community center. Lets keep the club alive and thriving for everyone to enjoy.
I think the police are overreacting, maybe the guns were for protection?
The police have a duty to enforce the law and ensure public safety. Justifying the possession of illegal firearms for protection is dangerous and irresponsible. There are legal ways to ensure personal safety without resorting to illegal means. Lets support law enforcement in keeping our communities safe.
I dont see the issue, let people enjoy their night out!
Sure, but what about the safety and well-being of others? Its not just about people enjoying their night out, its about being responsible and considerate of the community as a whole. Lets prioritize everyones health and safety over personal enjoyment.
I bet there are worse things happening in Greensboro than a cabaret.
Oh, so because there are worse things happening, we shouldnt care about a cabaret being shut down? Its not about comparing tragedies, its about addressing issues in our community. Every problem deserves attention, big or small.
Isnt it concerning how easily guns and drugs were found in a cabaret?
Why are people surprised? Its a strip club, not a daycare.
Do you think stricter regulations on strip clubs are necessary to prevent crime?
Hmm, wonder if stricter regulations could prevent this kind of stuff? What do you think?
Wow, cant believe the drama at Secrets Cabaret! Do you think its fair to label it a nuisance property?
I think calling Secrets Cabaret a nuisance property is a bit harsh. Every establishment has its issues, but lets not jump to conclusions based on rumors. Lets focus on facts and evidence before passing judgment. Lets keep an open mind and consider all perspectives.
Shouldnt we focus on addressing root causes instead of just shutting down establishments?
Shouldnt the focus be on addressing root causes instead of just shutting down places?
Do you think tough actions like this actually make a difference in crime prevention?
Absolutely, tough actions are necessary to deter criminals. Soft approaches have shown to be ineffective. Its about setting clear boundaries and consequences. If criminals know theyll face severe repercussions, theyre less likely to commit crimes. Prevention is key.
