The Saratoga Race Course has announced that its reserved tables for Belmont Stakes Day will be available exclusively through a random drawing. The drawing, which is open for entries from Monday, is for tables in the racecourse’s picnic paddock area. In addition to the tables allocated in the draw, many more will be available on a first-come, first-served basis during the four-day Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. This accommodation method was introduced by the New York Racing Association in 2015 to ease fans’ access to tables during the summer meet.
The reserved picnic spots will be positioned on the north and south sides of the Saratoga paddock. Each spot consists of a table accommodating six guests, for a total cost of $450. This price includes the ticket admission for each guest, however, if a table winner has already purchased admission before the draw takes place, that amount will then be deducted from the total table cost.
The New York Racing Association also revealed a set of rules for the event. For example, it allows coolers of specific dimensions (no bigger than 12”x18”), to carry food and non-alcoholic beverages. However, attendees should note that other items such as pop-up tents, extra chairs, and umbrellas are strictly prohibited.
Regarding the reservation prices, it was specified that for a six-person table, it would be available on Thursday, June 6, at $25 per person; on Friday, June 7, at $50 per person, and on Sunday, June 9 at $15 per person. Prices indicated here include admission to the event. The pricing and accommodation arrangement are made to offer fans flexibility during the four-day event.
In related news, Saratoga Race Course also announced that season ticket packages, as well as season passes, are available for purchase as of Wednesday. These offerings give fans additional opportunities to enjoy the horse racing season at one of the most notable racecourses in New York.
