In Romania, a Bucharest court has recently denied returning assets to online influencer, Andrew Tate, that were confiscated in relation to his pending criminal case. Tate has been charged with human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. The assets are to remain in the custody of Romania’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT. Despite previously winning an appeal against the seizures in January, triggering a retrial, Tate’s spokesperson confirmed the latest decision will also be appealed.
Tate, who is a former professional kickboxer, and his brother Tristan were both arrested in December 2022, along with two Romanian women. The group was formally indicted by Romanian prosecutors in June of the following year. However, all parties have since denied the allegations. Upon their arrest, Romanian authorities confiscated an array of assets, including 15 luxury cars, 14 designer watches, and money in various currencies.
The total value of the confiscated goods was estimated at around 3.6 million euros ($3.9 million). Included within the assets were major brands such as Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Aston Martin, and Mercedes-Benz. Alongside these physical assets, DIICOT further indicated that it had identified over 10 properties and pieces of land registered to companies owned by the brothers. These properties and lands could be utilized to fund investigations and compensate victims if authorities prove they were purchased through illegal activities.
Despite the legal proceedings, Andrew Tate maintains his innocence by claiming that the prosecutors have no solid evidence against him and theorizes a potential political conspiracy aimed towards silencing him. Having amassed a following of 9 million users on the social media platform X, Tate has been banned from numerous prominent social media platforms in the past for communicating misogynistic views and hate speech.
This decision by the Bucharest court comes after the Tate brothers attended an appeal regarding a separate case where British authorities had issued arrest warrants for allegations of sexual aggression dating back to 2012-2015. The court approved the UK authorities’ request to extradite the Tates, but only once all Romanian legal proceedings have concluded. As it stands, the Romanian case remains in its preliminary chamber stages, allowing the defendants to challenge the presented evidence. The Bucharest Tribunal has extended the Tate brothers’ geographical restrictions for an additional 60 days, preventing them from leaving the country, pending their trial.

I think Andrew Tate shouldve gotten his assets back. The court made a mistake.
Wow, thats unfair! I think Andrew Tate shouldve gotten his assets back.
I think Andrew Tate shouldve been more transparent about his assets in the first place.
Why should he? Its his business, not yours. Transparency is overrated. Let the man live his life and make his money however he wants. Stop being nosy and worry about your own assets.
I dont get why people are sympathizing with Tate, hes not a victim here.
Tate may not be a victim in your eyes, but everyones story has layers. Empathy doesnt mean condoning actions, it means understanding. Maybe try looking beyond the surface before passing judgment.
I think Andrew Tate should have his assets returned. The court decision seems unfair.
Sorry, but Andrew Tates assets were rightfully seized due to his illegal activities. The court decision was just and necessary to uphold the law. He shouldnt get special treatment just because of his status. Justice must be served equally to all.
I think the court made the right call. Andrew Tate needs to face consequences.
I totally agree. Andrew Tates actions were inexcusable. Its about time hes held accountable for his behavior. Let this be a warning to others that this kind of behavior will not be tolerated. Justice served.
I think Andrew Tate should have his assets returned, unfair decision by the court.
I completely disagree. Andrew Tates assets were rightfully seized due to his illegal actions. The courts decision was just and necessary to uphold the law. He should face the consequences of his actions like anyone else.
I cant believe Tate thought he could get those assets back. What a mess!
Tate really dropped the ball on this one. Its like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Couldnt agree more, what a disaster.
Why should Andrew Tates assets be returned? Isnt justice served already?
Justice is not served until all ill-gotten gains are rightfully returned. Andrew Tates assets should be confiscated as a consequence of his actions. Letting him keep what he acquired through deceit would only perpetuate injustice.
I cant believe the court denied Andrew Tates request! What a crazy world we live in.
Its not about the world being crazy, its about following the law. Just because someone makes a request doesnt mean it should automatically be granted. The court must consider all factors before making a decision. Thats how justice works.

Absolutely not. Andrew Tates assets were confiscated for a reason – he likely engaged in illegal activities. Why should he be compensated for breaking the law? Lets focus on supporting victims of crime, not rewarding criminals.
