Sagicor Bank, the first digital bank in Barbados, celebrated its first anniversary with a “Vehicle Loan Extravaganza” on March 9th at its Worthing Corporate Centre location. The event, which included collaborations with several local partners, was part of a week-long series of events marking the bank’s inaugural year of operations. Partners such as Courtesy Garage, CAR Barbados, Prestigious Wheels, CTCM Custom Imports, Express Motors and the Big Car Sale were on-site offering customers special deals on new and used vehicles.
Dwayne Worrell, Sagicor Bank’s Marketing Manager, said it was an exciting occasion for the bank to have such amazing partners on board. In addition to car dealerships offering deals, Sagicor General insurance was also on-site providing special offers for customers. Other industry partners included Automotive Art, Shine Vehicle Care Center and Flow, each contributing their own unique offers to the event.
Mr. Worrell also mentioned that the event aimed not only to offer customers exclusive car deals and loan approvals on the spot, but also to create an enjoyable experience. In addition to the attractive financial deals, the bank also offered music entertainment, Sagicor branded snow cones, a spin-the-wheel game and much more.
The turnout for the “Vehicle Loan Extravaganza” was impressive with people beginning to line up even before the event’s official start time at 9 am, according to Mr. Worrell. He added that many people also came prepared with their necessary documents which led to several on-the-spot loan approvals.
The celebration of Sagicor Bank’s first anniversary continued with a separate event where the bank hosted MBA students from the prestigious Wharton Business School for a presentation and discussion on Sagicor’s experience with creating a digital ecosystem in Barbados. As part of their activities, the bank showcased its e-brokerage platform, which is part of its ongoing digital transformation strategy. The aim is to create a robust digital platform where clients can go from desire to client in under ten minutes using a mobile app.

I dont see the point in celebrating with vehicle loans. Why not something more meaningful?
Hey, everyone celebrates in their own way. If getting a vehicle loan brings someone joy, who are we to judge? Let people enjoy things without raining on their parade. Lifes too short to criticize how others find happiness.
Cant believe theyre throwing a vehicle loan extravaganza celebration! What a way to mark an anniversary.
Seems like a desperate attempt to lure people into debt under the guise of a celebration. Beware of flashy promotions that could lead to financial strain. Celebrate responsibly by saving, not taking on unnecessary loans.
I think offering vehicle loans is great, but do we really need an extravaganza celebration for it?

Wow, cant believe theyre celebrating with vehicle loans! Is this really necessary?
Hey, everyone celebrates differently. If vehicle loans work for them, who are we to judge? Lets focus on our own choices and let others do the same. Lifes too short to worry about how others choose to celebrate. Peace out.
