A 20-year-old man, Jose Martinez Sambrano III, was arrested more than a year after a shooting incident in which a man was shot multiple times in front of his family in San Antonio. Sambrano is facing four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, along with another suspect named Theodore Sanchez, who was also involved in the incident. The shooting took place on November 27, 2022, outside a home on the Southeast Side of San Antonio. According to police reports, the victim was talking with relatives inside a car when Sambrano and Sanchez confronted him about money. Sanchez then proceeded to shoot at the man and his family’s vehicle with an AR-style gun, injuring the man multiple times in various body parts.
During the shooting incident, a woman present at the scene yelled at Sanchez, informing him that her young son was inside the vehicle. Despite her warning, Sanchez continued to shoot towards the woman and the vehicle, fortunately, however, no one inside the car was injured. The car itself sustained several bullet holes as a result of the gunfire. The arrest warrant affidavit revealed that Sambrano was a friend of the victim’s family, while Sanchez was only an acquaintance. Warrants for the arrests of both Sambrano and Sanchez were issued in November 2022, with Sambrano being arrested on Monday, and Sanchez having been taken into custody late last year. Sanchez, like Sambrano, was also charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
