Police are investigating a fatal shooting incident in St Augustine which resulted in the death of a man and left another injured. The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Ryan “Dogman” Rampersad from Tunapuna. During the incident, a 44-year-old standerby was also injured, having been hit by a stray bullet.
The incident took place at approximately 10:00 pm on a Friday evening. Rampersad and the 44-year-old man were socializing at the intersection of Freeman Road and Orange Grove Road. At this point, an unidentified vehicle reportedly pulled up near the two men.
An armed suspect disembarked from the vehicle and began shooting. Rampersad was shot and fatally wounded in the attack, and the 44-year-old man sustained injuries. The reason behind the shooting and the relationship between the men have not yet been clarified.
Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying the suspect and establishing a motive for the shooting.
