Team Trinidad and Tobago safely arrived in Grenada to compete in the 2024 CARIFTA Games, with 86 members departing from Piarco International Airport. The team was welcomed with a Carnival atmosphere at the Maurice Bishop International Airport. Among the 68 athletes selected are defending girls U20 champion Saana Frederick and boys U20 5,000m champion Tafari Waldron, along with 18 officials. Day 1 features morning and afternoon sessions on Saturday, March 30, with events like the 100M Hurdles, High Jump, Javelin Throw, Shot Put, and a variety of sprints and relays for different age groups. Day 2 on Sunday, March 31, continues with morning and afternoon sessions, including hurdle races, field events, relays, and finals for the 3000m and 1500m races. Day 3 on Monday, April 1, wraps up the competition with events like the 100m Hurdles, discus throw, high jump, pole vault, shot put, and various relay races.
The meet is set to feature a mix of individual and team competitions, with athletes competing in various track and field disciplines. Each day is divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with events ranging from sprints to endurance races, hurdles, jumps, throws, and relays.
