    The cold hard fact about religion is that they have consistently claimed they are the custodians of all "basic truth, goodness and decency."

    Whereas in reality,

    Every conman, lunatic, bigot, hypocrite, saddest and pedophile have all hidden behind and been protected by this claim as well.

    the Ojibwemowin word for wild rice is manoomin. Anishinaabeg have been harvesting manoomin for thousands of years. and colonial governments have been destroying manoomin habitats for ~500 years. manoomin is one of the reasons we need to protect the water. manoomin is a vital food source that grows in water

    The Pastor at the Church I went to adopted children, I think he and his adopted two children, maybe three but two for sure. I remember the Pastor was preaching about him adopting his children and he said right there at the pulpit in front of everyone that he had a hard time loving those children because they were adopted and I remember the men in the audience saying, "amen, it's okay brother, we understand." … I will never understand that, he and his wife fucking chose to adopt so he knew his children were adopted and then he says he struggles with loving his kids because they are adopted, that will always be a wtf moment in my memory.

    38:44 Her intent for him to die or not is irrelevant. What matters, legally speaking is her intent to do the act that caused the harm. In this case, she intended to put him in the suitcase and intended to leave him there for long enough to "get back" at him. Her intent follows her act.

    I remember reading during the Arab Springs rising, when many Muslims were coming to Canada and the US, that 1 in 10 doctors in Canada are Muslim. Considering the doctor shortage in Canada, we should be welcoming more doctors of any religion or ethnicity.

    I was distracted most of the episode, thinking about how absolutely hideous the new pride flag is. (Don’t get worked up; I’m gay, and not a phobe.) It’s just SO freaking ugly.

    I also get annoyed at the inclusion of intersex. Intersex communities and organizations have said over and over again that they are not automatically queer, and don’t want to be included in the acronym. Nobody listens, though.

    I was reading the book of Enoch and didn’t realize that the authors considered the angels having children with humans was considered the unforgivable sin. The opening story about Eden and the apple was merely a small transgression compared to the nephalim.

    Not from the south and might get some comments, but the family likes jambalya from a box…we add extra bell pepper, onion, zuchinni and carrot. Great way to hide veggies for those who dont like them! 😂
