    "when the light turns green" (or worse, green arrow), the car at the front is sleeping or on their phone. That car goes nowhere, then suddenly notices the yellow arrow, speeds through on its own, and you are left grumbling that the only person who made it through is the same one that screwed over everyone.

    “A simple solution to traffic” is an ironic title seeing how in his best way to fill a plane video he says that a simple answer is usually wrong.

    I don’t know if it’s true across the country, but I recall noting that the “everyone start at the same time” plan is how people (somewhat) drive in Cologne, Germany. I was riding in a taxi , about 5 cars back from a traffic light. The light changed and my driver immediately started accelerating, counting on the drivers ahead doing the same, and to avoid having the car behind us crash into him 😮👍😁

    教習所の教材にしてほしい。ヘタクソな運転するやつらに見せて欲しい。
    要するにブレーキをいかに踏まないように運転するかが渋滞を防ぐ方法なのにそれを理解してないドライバーがほとんど。

    Uhh there is already an actual law in place you need to be three car lengths or more behind the car in front. But like 10% of people actually follow this. Everyone is either too far behind or too slow. Then you get speeders or grandmas. This will never ever ever be fixed. Self driving cars sure but when will 100% of the world have one? Never is the answer. You will always have people who want to actually drive

    It's funny how traffic "experts" know the pattern right before congestion happens yet still manage to get the big picture source wrong. How hard is it to realize that when too many people head in the same direction at the same time, obviously there is going to be a clump somewhere?

    2:39 No no no no no no no. Your goal as a driver is to maintain a safe distance from the car in front of you factoring in the distance from
    car behind you, which you can’t control.

    If you’re being tailgated, increase the distance from the car in front of you so you can slow down at a slower rate.

    Technically Grey was correct that the solution to traffic is "no more monkeys driving cars", but not in the way he meant it.
