Trigger Warning: Description of Sexual Assault and Harassment

On March 9, Valorant pro and ex-overwatch player Jay “Sinatraa” Won was accused of both sexual assault and sexual misconduct by his ex-girlfriend.

He has since been suspended from Sentinels’ Valorant roster while an investigation is carried out and is unable to play in this weekend’s Valorant Masters event.

Sinatraa denies the allegations.

    “I was depressed… I was scared I would be alone if I wasn’t the perfect, obedient girlfriend.” Here, we can establish her primary fear as being loneliness and her treatment for it as a relationship. This is further supported here: “I stayed with him out of fear of being alone, so my continuing to speak to him after our relationship ended was just a continuation of that fear” (document #1, page 1, paragraph 6), and “I reassured him because I didn’t want him to get mad at me, but most times in these situations, if it was in person, I would have just surrendered” (document #2, page 1, paragraph 5). She was willing to positively reinforce Sinatraa and their sex life if it meant avoiding an argument, a mechanism likely employed to steer clear of her biggest fear, loneliness. In time, her reluctance to firmly refuse Sinatraa's advances would outweigh words entirely, leading us to her conclusion that “saying no to sex was not an option.”

    However, this last quote puzzled me the most: "I didn't physically fight him. I wasn't scared of him killing me or anyone I loved. I wasn't unconscious. And that's what legally constitutes rape. I said no countless times, but because I gave in due to the fear of emotional abuse rather than physical abuse, it’s harder to get a conviction." First off, where the hell did she get this legal definition? Rape is simply defined by the Department of Justice as "penetration without the consent of the victim". That's what it boils down to. I'm paraphrasing a little bit, but that's literally all it is. It has nothing to do with killing, fighting, or fearing for your life. I don't know where the hell that came from. Even in this made-up definition that's far more inclusive, Miss Hernandez refuses to classify her experience as rape. So, the fact that people label Sinatraa a rapist is laughable. Unless you have a degree in forensic science and a rape kit that says otherwise, I'd shut up.

    Interestingly enough, in this scenario, Miss Hernandez stated that she “gave in due to the fear of emotional abuse.” If "gave in" means giving consent in this context, then obviously she wouldn't have a case because it categorically wouldn't be rape. And unfortunately, regrettable sex with your boyfriend is not a crime.

    . buh imo rn seems like this is more of a personality thingy, and they both at fault looking at a guy who is overprotective, obsessive and absolutely hates blue b*lls and a girl who literally allowed all this to happen. i see that it's clear that she knew this is more of a perso thingy from him so not making a decision and hoping that someone will change without anything done is insane. plus sinatraa was talented ofc he got attention making his ego sky rocket thus making him do wrong things, at this point things shud have been cleared right!?

    I cant believe this man, I just cheered for him in the NA LCQ. I had no idea. How can someone still be allowed to compete with solid proof of them sexually harassing someone. What makes it even more disgusting is that he did it to someone that trusted him. His own girlfriend. Filthy human being I hope he gets what he deserves.

    Sinatraa is the rich guy here so if ever he unfortunately lose, this woman would immediately be fucking rich while the guy is swimming in debt while being shamed endlessly until he dies. So i kinda seen some pattern here already, this type of sht happened over and over again for the past 30 years.. famouse rich guy getting accused, his side of story not needed, women are believed unconditionally… and as soon as the man is proven innocent it is already too late and the woman can just walk away with no punishment at all. And people will just laugh it off, like they are watching a prank show.

    I'm not siding with sinatraa, i dont give a sht. I'm just saying.

    Thats why i still belive on the basic etiquette that our ancestors made they decide to whomever u patch-up to this freedom of choosing life partners are cool until u have stuck into worst scenario which will ruin your life…i don't know what exactly happened..but as far as i know his gf is accused him or filed a case against sextual harassment correct me if im wrong…

    The crazy thing is, if you try to go look for the allegation audio clips, the guy who runs the channel who has it posted deletes every single comment calling out sinatraa and was probably paid by him to do it, posting multiple videos defending him is the whole purpose of his channel and calling the girl crazy, the guys name is TheScuffedMen or something its actually insane
