Kpop idols have been victims of terrible controversial styling and bad outfits whether it’s stage outfits or airport fashion because of Korean beauty standards. Many female idols are uncomfortable with short dresses and revealing clothing and fans have been public about their reactions and opinions about them.     smh…how could we skip on our natural blonde queen Hyoyeon.
    But I do agree the bleaching of idols hair needs to be toned down a bit. Sometimes the damage is irreparable, and can cause hair loss : ( I'm so glad that New Jeans is able to wear wigs to avoid damage to their hair.

    About the platinum look: I have thought about going silver before just to try it, but after doing even a little bit of research, I realized the bleaching process alone would take several session, plus the maintenance of the look afterwards would cost more money than I’m willing to spend on haircare. Now if only the stylists would understand this point or at LEAST educate the idols on how to maintain the bleach.

    as someone who had their hair bleached about two years ago for about 10 months, my hair still has not fully recovered lol. can’t imagine k-pop idols hair who are always dying their hair like

    As someone who’s bleached and dyed hair multiple times, there’s also one more important point between plantinum blonde and anything else: dye.
    I don’t remember too much of what the actual colorist said to me, but the dye can really help preserve what would otherwise become tangled/straw/breaking/split ends…

    (G)I-dle’s entire crew going blonde and poor Yuqi and Shuhua looking horrific. Lia from Itzy going blonde 😬 yikes…that one scared me. Haram from BABYMONSTER…nope. I can’t with the bleached and highlighter yellow fried hair. Here’s the thing: they wouldn’t look bad with blonde hair if salons there understood how to do beatiful dimensional blonde, instead of poorly bleach fried blonde, reminiscent of old school playboy bunny blonde. I notice that dimension is something hair colorists for idols don’t seem to understand how to do.

    If you notice, most male idols that go with the arched eyebrows have a "sexy" image. The eyebrows emphasize their bone structure, and it looks much less soft than the straight light eyebrows.

    AND- for the female idols, light eyebrows = darker eye makeup for stages. Sometimes, that's just not flattering!

    As a dancer, I actually love love love micro and mini skirts. They're great to dance in because you can ignore that they exist. But if the idols are not comfortable with that, and constantly tugging it down, there's a problem. Some, like Momo, prefer shorter outfits that let them dance.

    But others feel very uncomfortable, and the stylists should really be taking that input!

    For eyebrows, they are done straight and lighter because it’s neotenous. Children have straight eyebrows, so it sends a subconscious message to our brains that the person is younger than they actually are. They are dyed to match lightened skin colors, look softer, and for the same reason as above.

    Ah also, sometimes they will give idols odd hair colors to camouflage plastic surgery when it’s just been done or still is healing, since then a change to a good hair color or makeup style afterwards also disguises the surgery. Sometimes even without surgery, companies know that fans say things like ‘X is this idol’s era” etc., so they will stagger what members of the group they want to look best in the beginning of their careers so the public gets to know each member more slowly without being overwhelmed all at once. And since the public can get sick of celebrities sometimes when they are too all over the place, it lets them pick up more individual endorsements since it tends to wind up staggering them so the income level doesn’t drop.

    To be fair, showing safety shorts has been a trend since 2015 in K-Pop lol. Also, as someone who lived through the original Y2K clothing trend, it did trend to show shorts under skirts for awhile, but they would be made of the same material for the most part (tight shorts under a skirt with both being maybe like a knit, etc.).

    in my opinion shorter skirts and dresses make them look taller since they give the illusion that their legs are longer. That's why I think stylists prefer them

    I remember when Loha went blonde for LIMBO, and dont get me wrong it was utterly iconic, but you could tell her hair was utterly fried and she was wearing a beanie to hide it in their short videos

    The blonde was cute on Giselle what gets me is that they die it immediately after back to dark colors and don’t bother to fix hot roots or weird colors in the blonde, or they bleach the eyebrows too like no keep them dark, just to add on a pound of unflattering makeup Giselles wig from black mamba was fire

    Im so glad you brought up junsu in the blonde hair portion, he looks so good in light hair but has also had every hair color under the sun at this point, it reminded me of how openly he hates dying his hair bright bright red for his dracula musical runs and everytime he swears he'll go black the next time lol i've never heard an idol/celebrity be so open about hating dying their hair besides him

    I remember Irene scandal with the stylist, because before the scandal, the stylist kept gaving Joy uncomfortable outfits and Wendy as well, the lips color and the bangs as well

    I’m aware that XG isn’t a k-pop group, but they’re the only group I can think of that regularly gives their idols longer skirts (XG in general has great styling though). K-pop groups should take notes from them.

    Another thing: not enough people mention that Lia of Itzy looks really good with blonde hair (IMO)

    I think IVE's stylist did a REALLY great job styling the miu miu micro skirt during the love dive era bc they actually extend the skirt with additional fabric so it was not that short but still chic compared to blatantly showing the safety shorts

    i just know that their scalp is screaming for help! Some kpop idols look better with dark hair why does the company always choose light colors like pink and orange or yellow? They can wear wigs like new jeans did for their comeback instead of frying healthy hair.

    god ur so right about the platinum hair i jsut hate it on some idols, for example danielle from newjeans in how sweet with her blonde hair, it just doesnt fit her, if im being honest brown hair fit her the most, not these bright colors, no hate to danielle she just looks way better in dark hair. and also chaewon from le sserafim OMG……. she just doesnt look flattering in blonde hair like idk but chaewon looks the best in black hair

    Wigs are high maintenance – speaking from experience. It's probably why they avoid it but if they get their hands on good ones they wouldn't need to do much. I think hannis blonde wig for the gucci fashion show looked really, it had some questioning if it was her real hair. Even the little bob shes's rocking during japanese promotions! Sometimes its not even the stylist fault tbh. I forgot who it was but there was former idol who talked about this on tiktok and some outfits dont get approved by higher ups who are not by surprise men – they sometimes pick the outifts that are terrible – those skirts are sadly & probably a pass.

    I mean… bleached platinum hair just feels wrong to me. There are only two idols I've seen who actually looked goot with this color (imo), and that's Siyeon from Dreamcatcher in Odd Eye era and Hyeop from Drippin in Beautiful Maze era

    Something I hate that’s sort of trending is blue contacts, some idols get blue eye contacts & don’t know how to act (just kidding) 😭. But like it’s such a scary apocalypse & I like idols better with their original brown eyes! not saying all idols look bad with blue eyes though..

    Idk if this counts for styling but having idols ESPECIALLY YOUNG IDOLS veneers. Like they shouldn’t get them and at times it looks so unnatural. Plus it’s not good for their actual teeth. Honestly I’d fight back on veneers and show the company the Tana mojo video when on of her teeth fell out and you can clearly see the ugly tooth 😭 like just give them braces with cute colors or invisalign

    The straight eyebrows conversation we needed. I find them to look really good in some face shapes and some complexions, but OMG, STOP MAKING EVERY EYEBROW STRAIGH, PLEASE. I have specially noted that on more western looking idols, the straight eyebrows look so weird. Like on Kai from txt, Bayhying from kepler ans someof BLACKSWAN's members. I think it clashes with their eye shape, but I don't really know. Having curved and diagonal eyebrows is okay. Vote for eyebrow freedom!!
