The Vivziepop Angel Dust Hazbin Hotel Controversy Explained



Recently we had the early access launch of the first two episodes of hazbin hotel. As a result, hate and criticism for both hazbin hotel and vivziepop has hit a new high. I’ve never seen this level of hate in all my time of creating content, so in this video i’ll go through everything that happened, vivzie’s tweets, and give my thoughts at the end as well.

So as i mentioned the first two episodes released early. They were also leaked, which i did a dedicated video on, but after this happened vivzie was getting criticism. One point in particular being the character designs for a few characters like alastor and vox. There were tweets made on it that got anywhere between 1000 to 20k likes.

Episode 4 of hazbin hotel specifically has to do alot with angel dust and is when they debut the poison song. A clip of that sequence was leaked on twitter and many users were quiet upset. I’ll showcase a couple tweets.

    There is a warning, we know what we watch… as a victim, I felt happy for the fact scene with angel dust been non suggered but shown. Visibility for victims is a good thing because you don’t know without live it, but show horror is a good way to say this exist and it’s no more acceptable. In horror movies we see everything about murder, why not here.

    Similar things like this happens in many fandoms. If a trailer drops that is vague or if someone leaks a scene, people with go bat shit crazy trashing on something that hasn’t officially come out yet that could paint an entirely different picture than what the trailer or leak shows, ending up totally misunderstanding the whole thing, just cuz they chose to judge everything based on the trailer or leak and interpreted it entirely differently than what it actually is. Its crazy madness.

    Im a SA survivor, and its hard to show any sort of proof of a horrific event that happened a few years or many years ago. Especially since many SA never have any proof, thus giving the attacker the upper hand of getting away with it without facing any consequences. And if there is proof, it tends to dissolve away over time, cuz society puts shame on victims for allowing it to happen, so not many get reported with the evidence. Its a whole shit storm on its own without outside people judging and attacking SA survivors if the incident actually happened or not. Shaming and judging survivors just adds more unnecessary stress onto of an already horrific event that can really mess up the person’s mental state. Its sad and disgusting that people trash on survivors. We live in a fucked up world.

    R2ninjaturtle… I can't believe it. I used to look up on that guy he used to draw and wrote a Thrax origin story called Heartburn on Deviantart. I remember reading it but went off track due to school. I remember he had an obsession with that character and would cosplay as him in his videos.

    When I found out he harassed a minor I found it very disgusting I didn't think he would do that. I'm surprised that Vivzie defended him over this! No SA survivor should go through this I will not be supporting those two anymore.

    4:52 peoples triggers are important to heed, but we can’t just censor life or a cartoon meant for mature audiences just because someone may have a trigger. The maturity rating is all of the trigger warning we need. As an SA survivor, I’m so thankful that Vizi showed the truth about how cruel people can be, not only in general but also in the context of the sex work business. If a cartoon was all fun and games the whole time, then it would be making light of the bondage of sin—then what would we get from that? The show is not afraid to explore the dark side of human nature for what it is and I admire the artist for that—I personally hold the opinion if the conversation about dark things like SA and other forms of assault or mental health issues, to name a few, were more normalized, it would remove the shame and stigmatization from it, which would help so many people. It would help more people help themselves move from victimhood to survivor hood; it would help them seek the support they need, find community in each other, and learn from their experiences so we can try to stop these things from happening so often. Sin, mental health issues, addiction, assault—especially sexual assault, are not things we should take lightly enough to hide in the closet so that we can never shine the light on these serious issues.

    as an SA survivor and a victim of addiction i completely understand why angel dust copes with hypersexuality. its a lot more common than many people say. and those who claim hypersexuality is "not a real trauma response" shouldnt be trying to talk over other's experiences.

    First of all, Alastor and Vox look great, second of all, people are so rude and say many disgusting things to Vivziepop. I also just can’t believe how insensitive people are, criticizing is one thing, but people downright bully her, she does not deserve that, she’s a human like us. I personally love Angel Dust and he is tied with Husk as my favorite character, and I think Poison is a beautiful song, but having a different opinion is fine but this, this is just too much. 😅

    I need to add something about the pins:

    A while ago there was a controversy with Raphielle, who made the Poison storyboards because they had Valentino x Angel as their ‘rape ship’, and then Viv commented on some pins saying she had to have them.

    The pins weren’t made by Raphielle. They were made by a SA survivor who uses Valentino and Angel Dust as a way to express their trauma. They weren’t romanticising it. They were expressing their trauma.

    Vivziepop is bringing light to this abuse that Angel goes through, so that way people can understand the situation and figure out how to help with those abused victims in real life.
    People who get drama queeny about it are going about it wrong.
