    I'm so glad you brought up who the real "devil" was at the end of the video.
    When Rowling first tweeted, the internet went crazy.
    When Trump literally banned transgender people from the military…barely anyone said anything. Considering the upcoming election, and the fact 50% of people have said they'll vote for him, I hope more scrutiny can be placed on the Republican Party, and what more we stand to lose if Trump gets in again.

    In the debate chapter of the video I just want to point out something, I do debating as a sport and In debating you’re not trying to change the beliefs of opp or prop you’re trying to change the beliefs of the adjudicators (judges) so what I’m saying is civil conversations / civil debates don’t work as their whole premise isn’t changing the opp or props beliefs

    I am late but I wanted to emphasise something that really bothers me with these people: how self-centered they are. They need to understand that the world – and society – does not revolve around them. Maya made the Tala issue about her experience with motherhood, JKR makes the trans "issue" about her own jumpiness, as if many women – and I dare say, many trans women – have not been victims of abuse themselves. Every single one of them reactionaries makes their politics about themselves, about what they will teach their own children, about how they feel they cannot speak about their own experiences – even though nobody denied them the platform or language to do that – or about the persecution they personally experience (neglecting to mention that this "persecution" was in fact a backlash against their bigotry).

    Their inability and unwillingness to empathise with others is staggering.

    I honestly think Megan Phelps Roper is the worst person imaginable to make this kind of podcast. There’s a reason JK allowed her in. We think because she left Westboro that she’s somehow enlightened. Actually she’s a person who is able to see terrifying bigots as “well-intentioned” and “misunderstood”. She’s also able to hear heinous messages of anti-trans ideology and feel somewhat numb to them. The attempt at balance was utterly feeble in her hands.

    Doing a rewatch and just want to defend my favourite sport.
    Figure skating is in no way an easy sport and comparing it to middle school hockey just hurts my soul. Having enough leg strength to vault you body into the air long and high enough to do up to almost 5 spins while maintaining correct posture and landing is no joke, and you must repeat it multiple times in the skate (not to mention other elements are not easy either). Top figure skaters push the boundaries of what human body is cabable of and there is a very real gap between what elements male and female skaters must and can do in their program. I'm not saying women can't compare to men (I'd rather jump off a cliff than say that) but… the physically best male skater right now can do 4,5 rotations jump while a lot of top female skater struggle with the easier 3,5 rotations version.
    All this is not to say that I think trans athletes should be kept out of figure skating (except maybe for their own good – it is a notoriously toxic environment 😅), I'm just saying that between figure skating and weight lifting? Figure skating is definitely the more physically difficult sport.

    The violent “sufferagets” in the UK weren’t actually members of that movement but its violent sister movement the Sufferagists. The “gets” in the uk were having polite conversations and peaceful protests, the “gists” got shit done.
