Two women from Jefferson County have been accused of a murder-for-hire case involving the 2021 shooting of Bradford Franklin Isbell, a 46-year-old man from Sylacauga. The suspects, Kiera Monthelia Turner, 28, from Leeds, and Allana Amani Reid, 30, from Birmingham were charged with capital murder/murder for hire. Isbell was found deceased outside his home on Harper Springs Road in Sylacauga around 10 p.m. on June 23, 2021.
In the same incident, officers also discovered a woman, Rachel Elizabeth Hayes, 32, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Hayes was airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment, and she survived her injuries. The investigators initially did not believe that the shooting was a random act, but no immediate arrests were made.
On March 8, both women, Turner and Reid, were indicted on the capital murder charge by a Jefferson County grand jury. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office spearheaded the investigation but has not disclosed the reason for their involvement or what sparked their probe. Prosecutors have refrained from commenting due to the ongoing investigation. Attempts to contact the Sylacauga police chief for a comment were not immediately fruitful.
The indictments suggest that the women either hired or assisted in hiring a man to carry out the shooting “for pecuniary and/or other valuable consideration or pursuant to a contract for hire.” While the alleged shooter’s name is mentioned in the indictments, he is not being identified as court records show no charges have been laid against him in this case.
The alleged shooter is currently incarcerated for an unrelated manslaughter conviction. Following the indictment, Turner and Reid were taken into custody, with Turner being booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Friday, and Reid on Monday. They are both being held without bond.

Do you think theres more to this story than meets the eye?
These women are wild! What led them to commit such a heinous act?
Its not about their gender, its about their actions. Lets focus on accountability and justice rather than perpetuating stereotypes. Judging individuals based on their gender is narrow-minded and unproductive.
Can we trust the justice system to handle cases like this fairly?

I cant believe the audacity of these women! What were they thinking?!
Its disappointing to see such judgment without knowing the full story. Lets try to practice empathy and understanding before jumping to conclusions. Everyone makes mistakes, but that doesnt define their worth as individuals. Lets be kinder in our comments.
