As the UN marks International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, FRANCE 24’s Naila Khan and Marion Laouamen report from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. India’s minority Christian community is reporting an increase in hate crimes. Christian rights groups say the situation has worsened in states run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

    I thought that in India the conflicts were only against the Muslims, I didn't know that Christians also could, in probably rare situations, also suffer from discrimination. I regret this very much.

    I am an Indian: born, brought up, alive and living in India. I am a secular person(meaning I have no connections with any dogmatic beliefs called religion). Q. Have i ever faced any discrimination on account of my name? A. No, never!
    I condemn all such attacks on the freedom and liberty of adults to make their own choices.

    These may be incidents of people trying to protect the fabric of their families and their society from ideas foreign to them.
    It must be understood that for a real Hindu: any God figure is just another God for them to worship. So, rather than attack a church they would prefer to stop by and pray. A good Hindu can be a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, Atheist, Agnostic and just about anything under the Sun, while still being a Hindu.
    Q. Are such attacks taking place? A. Yes, I have heard news reports of these attacks but have never ever witnessed one. One such gruesome attack was the burning of Graham Staines.
    Q. Possible reasons for these attacks? A. Over the past 3 to 4 decades certain denominations of “ Christians “ have come into India and have been aggressively selling Christianity like a “soap” ; luring(& tempting) gullible people into joining their organisation/s in exchange for benefits. This angers the local people. I don’t blame them for getting angry, just as i don’t blame the North Sentinalese people for sending an uninvited Christian missionary straight up to his creator.
    Q. Are there other reasons too? A. Yes, Ever since independence, bad politicians(like bad parents) have pampered what they term as “minorities” ( milking them as a vote bank), while neglecting the others. So the children of the family who have been neglected have begun revolting against the siblings who are being pampered and a blind eye being turned to all their faults while the others are treated with indifference. All that these children are asking for is to be treated with the same love, consideration and equality of rights.
    Q. What else? A. These attacks may also be orchestrated for political gains.

    I'm not a Hindu.

    This video disregards the concerns India has for which the laws are put in the first place. Don't push your western narrative in India. India is as big as Europe and so are the problems.

    I want our brothers and sisters to know one thing that we in India are facing end time crisis according Mat 24, Luke 21 and other Bible verse. It has to happen. In the same way we need to know that in India in the recent tme more people and poor people have accepted Jesus as their personal savior. It is amazing to know that in India their percentage is higher than 7% in population. Communal forces are feeling threatened by this increasing number. Let us thank God for this blessing. Let us rejoice in God's grace extended to many people in India. Let us ask God for his guidance to face the sinister designs of the forces that hinder God's salvation plan.

    This is just a small case I'm a Christian in india kerala I'm fine and happy to be born here I will not be as happy if I was born in France or US as a Christian
