The Supply Chain Innovation Challenge has officially closed, marking a key feature of the upcoming Global Supply Chain Forum to be held in Barbados from May 21 to May 24, 2024. The challenge aims to inspire innovative solutions that can transform trade opportunities into shared development gains. Deputy Secretary General of UNCTAD, Pedro Moreno, emphasized the importance of finding new solutions to create greener, more efficient, and resilient global production and distribution networks. He expressed hope that the energy transition will bring new opportunities, with some countries potentially becoming providers of alternative fuels.
The winning proposal from the Supply Chain Innovation Challenge will be presented to over 300 registered attendees and 100-plus speakers at the upcoming forum. Submissions for the challenge were accepted in English through an online form between January 17 and March 17. The objective of the challenge is to showcase innovative ideas that can drive positive change within supply chains and contribute to overall sustainable development goals.
