Ann Favro, a woman from Saranac Lake, has been indicted in connection to the murder of David Chenier of Indian Lake, New York. She will be arraigned for charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Thursday afternoon. The indictment followed the discovery of Chenier’s deceased body following a reported shooting incident.
Law enforcement first responded to the scene following reports of shots fired on Big Brook Road in Indian Lake on the evening of August 12. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Chenier. The circumstances surrounding his death immediately suggested foul play, prompting an investigation.
Favro was arrested the following day on August 13, 2023. She was taken into custody following a traffic stop. Although it is not stated directly, it can be inferred that evidence or information prompting her arrest was obtained during the initial stages of the murder investigation.
An autopsy was conducted on Chenier’s body on August 14 at Glens Falls Hospital. It confirmed the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the chest and neck. Consequently, the manner of death was ruled as a homicide. This established a clear connection between the shooting incident and the cause of Chenier’s death.
The case involving Favro marks a significant incident for Hamilton County, where Chenier was a resident. Hamilton County District Attorney Marsha Purdue indicates that this is the first murder to occur in the county in over 25 years, highlighting its impact on the local community.

Justice served? In small towns, its more like who you know, not what you did. The power dynamics can be twisted. Dont be fooled by the facade of justice. Things can escalate quickly when reputation and connections are at stake.
