In Osofo Tawiah Akura, a community in Nigeria, 49-year-old woman, Adwoa Obama, was reportedly attacked and stabbed several times by unknown individuals. The shocking incident has had a destabilizing effect on the residents of the area, as fear pervades the community. A local radio host, Akuapem Brother, described the horrific scene on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, revealing that the victim is currently in a critical condition, with numerous deep cuts inflicted on her body.
Adwoa is a known trader in her community. The ordeal allegedly began after she sold an item to a local young man and sent her daughter to collect the payment. A conflict reportedly arose between the two, escalating to the point where the young man assaulted the trader’s daughter. The matter was apparently settled by local elders, but this marked the beginning of a chilling saga.
According to Akuapem Brother, several unknown men launched a dawn attack on the trader’s residence. They started with the daughter, holding her by the neck in a suspected murder attempt. The young woman played dead, a ruse which persuaded her attackers to leave her. The assailants then turned their attention to Adwoa – assaulting and stabbing her multiple times.
Gravely injured but aware of the extreme danger they were in, the daughter managed to escape the house and raise an alarm. Unfortunately, by the time help arrived, the assailants had already fled the scene. The daughter believes the young man who initially assaulted her when she was sent to retrieve the money is responsible for orchestrating the subsequent attack.
In response to these horrific events, local police have opened an investigation. With the community living in fear, it is hoped that these violent criminals can be swiftly brought to justice. Meanwhile, Adwoa’s battle for life continues as she recovers from her traumatic injuries. While this is a deeply unsettling incident for the residents of Osofo Tawiah Akura, it is hoped that the actions of law enforcement will restore peace and safety within the community.
