A recent motion by Steel has raised concerns about the judge’s impartiality in Young Thug’s case, alleging bias in favor of the prosecution. The motion highlighted an incident on June 10, 2024, where the judge’s actions were seen as favorable to the prosecutors throughout the case.
Reports emerged on June 17 indicating that Young Thug and Steel filed the motion suspecting a clandestine meeting between Judge Glanville and co-defendant YSL Woody, which the judge did not deny. Despite their efforts, the motion was eventually denied by Judge Glanville.
In a separate incident on June 10, Steel faced detention for refusing to disclose information regarding the aforementioned meeting. Initially sentenced to 20 days in Fulton County Jail for contempt of court, he later obtained bond through an emergency motion, avoiding immediate jail time. Steel is presently challenging the contempt charge against him.
Notably, Young Thug and Brian Steel have also advocated for a mistrial in the ongoing YSL RICO proceedings, making it the longest criminal trial to date in Georgia.
