  Why didn't this talking head follow up and find out if Chase actually tried to contact her? Banks don't do enough to prevent fraud.

  Something is amiss here. Why would the texts with the codes from the bank not contain any detail about what it concerned? How hard would that be? If it said it was pertaining to a wire transfer she would have known. I would have smelled a rat when the same person kept calling. You would have expected it to be different employees.

  Also with my bank you would need the card or to log on with a passcode. How did they have either of those things? Maybe they impersonated her and requested a new card and it was delivered to her old address, which they had access to. Could it have been the person who bought her old house?

  These types of frauds make no sense because you know the account that it's going to. You know the bank it went to that should be able to be taken care of in just a few minutes.

  Moss isnt intelligent though. This was a classical fraud. I think this should be taught in school to not answer to these fraud calls and share otp number etc. Should also be taught when someone takes a new bank account.

  As for the bank.. they should have reported it to the police and started investigation

  This can be fixed so easily. Anything over a certain amount should have a 3 day hold and have you log into your account and approve or deny the wire.

  I get a notification through the bank app not a text. Sorry but that’s her fault for not thinking and responding to a text message. This type of phishing has been going on forever. People just need to educated themselves more

  This process seems inconsistent. A few years ago I tried wiring a family member $3k that never went through. I had to call Chase and the person said it was flagged for additional scrutiny and I had to provide all sorts of information in order to allow it proceed. And then the family member's bank also asked for my credentials in order to release the money. It was such a hassle that I reverted back to sending a physical checks since then. How did Chase allow this much money to get wired when I had to jump through so many hoops?

  Ya sending wire transfers should take a lot more to do especially large amounts. Seema like chase should given her an actual call and those transfers should have triggered legit confirmation from her.

  This transaction was between that person and the Scammers !! I received many messages from the IRS saying that I owe them money. I won’t pay taxes anymore because the IRS can not protect me ?????!!!!!!!
