The case of Fusako Sano is a harrowing tale of abduction and captivity. In 1990, Fusako, a 9-year-old girl, was kidnapped by Nobuyuki Sato while she was walking home from school. Nobuyuki, a troubled man with a history of mental illness and violent behavior, held Fusako captive in his room for nearly 10 years. Despite living with his mother, who resided on the first floor, Nobuyuki managed to keep Fusako hidden, abusing and torturing her without ever sexually assaulting her.

Fusako’s parents and the community searched extensively for her, but Nobuyuki was not even a suspect, thanks to his father’s previous efforts to erase his criminal record. During her captivity, Fusako was severely malnourished and physically abused, but she was eventually discovered in 2000 when Nobuyuki’s mother called the police for help due to her son’s increasing aggression.

Upon discovery, Fusako was in a dire physical and mental state, but she gradually recovered and reunited with her family. Nobuyuki was tried and sentenced to 14 years in prison and was released in 2015. Fusako changed her name and attempted to rebuild her life, though she continued to suffer from severe psychological trauma.

However I consider it to be hate crime, because of the way he ended their lives, like they weren't human beings. That's the same way I felt about Jeffrey Dahmer.
