It’s a legal argument that has outraged Canada’s autism community and could lead future murder trials down a dangerous path. Adrian Ghobrial reports on how the Alek Minassian trial is already setting a new precedent here in Canada.

Where did he get the credit card used to rent the van?

  • @MontyQueues June 29, 2024

if that ain't criminally insane i dont know what is

  • It seems as if ALL defense authorities and prosecutors have no idea what autism is.

    They should lose their job.

The way he was pretending to pull a gun out of his waistband should be proof enough to anyone that he knew exactly what he was doing.

  • @Phlegethon June 29, 2024

That is disgusting to use this. He deserves lifelong solitary confinement in the dark for what he did

U had to dislike because I'm so baffled

He planned this attack well in advance and rented the largest truck available. On the day he arrived to rent the truck, for some reason the truck wasn't available so he settled for the white van. Can you imagine how many more people he would've killed if he was driving the truck? This was all planned. Sounds criminally responsible to me.

Either way he should be locked up. Dangerous is dangerous.

  • @MsVictoria4ever June 29, 2024

He's guilty regardless of his condition and he must learn the consequences of his actions.

  • @Mike_Dark June 29, 2024

If he is not criminally responsible then why was he pretending to have a gun to make the cop shoot him

  • @RS-xh8rq June 29, 2024

He’s obviously is sick and will be in a hospital for the rest of his life!

  • @mowler8042 June 29, 2024

He planned it out and rented a van seems like he’s criminally responsible

  • @paulbahen5882 June 29, 2024

Ok…..if he cannot be held criminally responsible because he has mental health issues….then his FATHER should be held responsible because he should have been in control of his son's actions because he is his caregiver.

  • @Nicolas.Vincent June 29, 2024

I've got depression. I can be a mass murderer cause my brain doesn't understand responsibility. 🖕incel🗑

  • @adamwhite7300 June 29, 2024

i think this girls haircut lends the credibility

  • @ALLin1ish June 29, 2024

Death Penalty for Killers like him.

  • This guy is using the victim card.

  • I don't care about Autistic people so I don't care, he needs to go to jail enyways.

  • @wilhelmkrauss2946 June 29, 2024

Mass murderer, stop wasting peoples time and money. Effectively conserving a broken conscience

  • @shivercanada June 29, 2024

If the courts let this guy off…….there will be BIG TROUBLE. He sited that other nutcase in the US, Eliot ROger as an influence so he knew EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING

  • @CaptArgo24 June 29, 2024

    oh joy

  • @neoanderson563 June 29, 2024

    He is criminally responsible.

  • @firefox39693 June 29, 2024

I can only imagine how this makes other people who live with Aspergers and autism feel when they watch this.

  • @Liberty_Tree June 29, 2024

Nope. If he's able to rent a van he's able to know what he's doing. Yes, Trudeau will probably give him $7 million but that doesn't make him innocent.

  • @HighRepGoodForm June 29, 2024

The only way this should change criminal law in Canada is that they start death penalties and he's case number 1.
