Police said Williams was later found in the victims' car in Georgia.

Williams' attorney deposed four different experts, including the mental health supervisor at the Lake County Jail, who testified that she was psychotic and schizophrenic.

They said she arrived at the prison with normal behavior, but about four to six weeks into her stay — around the time she began interacting with other inmates and when prosecutors were considering the death penalty — she began refusing to use the restroom and only showered when he had to.

They said that conversations with her were limited, she saw ghosts during meetings with her lawyers and she spent much of her time dancing in a villa.

“I've never had her do anything in one day that wasn't psychotic,” Howard Lawrence said.

Williams did not appear to know who her attorney was when she arrived at the hearing Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors, however, said it was all an act and produced three deputies who patrolled Williams' cell block who testified that she was acting normal when no one was looking.

Two of them said they had conversations with her where she admitted she was faking it to help her case and she wasn't sorry for what she did.

“I'm still going to keep acting crazy, I know everything is on the record, I'm going to use it in my case,” one aide recalled her saying.

It was in the middle of cross-examining Jeffrey Dazinger that the hearing derailed. Williams was seen spitting on the floor.

Seconds later, the lawyers had a meeting with the judge, who asked everyone to leave the room. One deputy was seen wheeling Williams' wet chair out into the hallway to clean. A lawyer confirmed that she had peed on herself.

Williams did not return for questioning when Dazinger, who was called by the defense to confirm Williams' incompetence, resumed answering questions.

“It's hard to fake talking nonsense all the time,” he said. “With appropriate treatment, there is a reasonable chance of regaining fitness within six months.”

The judge did not immediately rule Wednesday, but said an order was expected.
