Ethics committee makes rare statement about Gaetz investigation

The House Ethics Committee announced that it will continue to investigate certain allegations surrounding Rep. Matt Gaetz, including whether the Florida Republican engaged in sexual misconduct, while ending other portions of the probe. CNN’s Annie Grayer reports. #CNN #News

    I thought that sexual misconduct was mainstream in the GOP right now.
    Their fuhrer is a criminal, with a rape-record; this is proven in court. He is also on the record (Access Hollywood tape), stating what he does to women, without consent….
    So why is what Gaetz did so special?

    Why the hell would this investigation take so long? Unreal. His running partner supposedly cooperated with authorities and has all the details. Either there is comms evidence (phone records, recordings, emails, texts), and transaction records (banking, Venmo, et al), and witnesses… or there is not. None of those items should be difficult or time-consuming to procure. Is the GOP just able to find such brilliant attorneys that they can stifle prosecutors? Oh, wait—this is Florida. The Crazy State. Where dinosaurs roam free, in the form of alligators and Republicans. On The Wire, Kima and Lester would have had this thing nailed shut in three, maybe four weeks (episodes).
