    ur title is wrong…frank Costello was never killed, there was an assassination attempt on him by Vito Genovese but he wasn't killed and retired after that…get ur history right before u make a video..this is sloppy work

    Vito Genovese DID NOT kill Frank Costello. He did issue a "hit" on him, and Costello WAS shot along the side of his head, but it was a basic miss by the shooter, and Costello recovered from the hit (miss). Costello, did , however, decidt to move to Florida and retire from the Mafia, so it a way Genovese did achieve his goal of taking over Costello's mafia boss position.

    Despite the wrong info in the title ("Vito Genovese Killed Frank Costello"), the video itself is top notch. It's from the excellent series "Mafias Greatest Hits" and has nothing to do with the person who uploaded it here. It's also a high quality (high resolution) upload (up to 1.2 GB!)

    5 months after the May 1957 failed murder attempt of Frank Costello by Vinny 'The Chin' Gigante under orders from Vito Genovese, Costello ally, the notorious gangster, Albert Anastasia, aka, "Lord High Executioner", was gunned down in a hotel barber shop. This further reduced Costello's hand ( a lot!), all but forcing him to step aside. Anastasia was head of the infamous "Murder Inc".

    In fact, Gigante was widely derided by other Genovese soldiers for missing a shot at point blank range, when he had been practising the hit for a month.

    The best thing I can say about Vito G. Is he understood a man’s love for their mother.
    During the time Vincent the Chin Galante was thugging around with his brothers their beloved mother was in need of a life saving surgery and they didn’t have the money.
    Vito admired the potential in all of the brothers especially the Chin so he paid for the surgery and all of the brothers became 100% loyal to Vito.
    When Vito asked the Chin to kill Frank Costello he was all too happy to accommodate and place himself and his brothers to be made in the Genovese crime family.
    Luckily the bullet grazed Franks temple and he didn’t croak.
    The Chin was arrested and he stayed loyal to Omertà as did Costello .
    How about that history.
