After over 18 hours of deliberating, the jury overseeing the Karen Read boyfriend cop murder trial said they have not reached a unanimous verdict. Judge Beverly Cannone announces she will be sending the jury back to continue deliberating, stating it is too early to make any decisions about their issues reaching a verdict.

Karen Read faces several charges including second-degree murder, manslaughter while operating under the influence of alcohol, and leaving the scene of personal injury and death. She was arrested in February of 2022, a few days after John O’Keefe died. If convicted, Read faces life in prison.
