Melanie Martinez, who appeared as a finalist on The Voice in 2012, has adamantly denied an accusation of sexual assault and rape by friend and fellow aspiring musician Timothy Heller. The shocking addition to the flood of stories regarding sexual impropriety in Hollywood, Washington and beyond began on Monday (Dec. 4) when Heller posted a lengthy tweet in which she described her alleged assault at the hands of someone she described as a close friend, later revealing it to be Martinez.

    Its hard to know the truth here as those two only knows what happened. It just boils down to who do you believe. Ive never heard of them as tik tok brought me here trying to find out what happened. What i learned is that after accusations were made, both of them pretty much went thru hell. I think it hurt Melanies career and it affected Timothys mental health especially when Melanie's fans went after her. I do think both women are back on track now and ok. If Timothy did lie, it was a horrible lie that affected a lot of people. If Melanie did in fact take advantage on her then shame on her. Since, has either admitted truth or false?

    Not all, but a LOT of Melanie fans are super toxic and even though this isn't biased and is only the truth whenever I say this but FYI NONE of these accusations were proven false nor did Tim ever "admit it". People are saying Mel was at an event at the time, but Melanie admitted to them having intercourse in her reply to Tim's accusations. She said this in a "She never said no" way, which still isn't consent. Another one of Mel's old friends came forward believing Tim after Melanie did something similar to her (Begging for her to have sex with her until she gave in reluctantly). Except her old friend consented, so it wasn't rape.

    This isn't solid, but other people have met Tim and Mel and said Tim was lovely, and one of Melanie's old makeup artists said she already knew that Melanie was shitty after the accusations from Tim came out.

    I also noticed a lot of Melanie fans defending her with their life barely even know much about the situation anyway and just are in denial that their favourite artist who always seems so sweet in interviews is capable of doing anything like this.

    I believe in innocent before proven guilty of course but I still avoid Melanie's music because morally I can't listen to it knowing that she could be a rapist. You can have your opinion, but DON'T spread misinformation or personally attack anyone.

    Damn, it makes me really sad that people lie about things like this. It's one of the most frustrating things to see, especially from a victim's pov.

    Cool so… People are gonna hear a person with power and enable her more because the person raped was mentally ill. What about Melanie? She's mentally ill and makes it seem cute and cool in A LOT of her music. Writes songs about her being accused instead of making a real statement.
    You mean to tell me Timothy kept up with the lie for years just to redact it?
    It doesn't ring weird to anyone that after years pass she comes out and says she lied?
    This person has gotten death threats for years. Their career has been effectively destroyed while Melanie gets bigger.
    Sure, there were a LOT OF GREY areas.
    But unless you have a clear physical and enthusiastic yes, it isn't consent.
    Even with "someone like Melanie" there's nothing to gain? Heller didn't "gain clout." Heller didn't gain anything but people calling her a liar.
    The situation is honestly all uncomfortable and sounds very, to quote Melanie, Toxic.
    I think it's all weird and honestly Melanie and her music has always made me pretty uncomfortable anyways.
    Like her if u want I guess, but I don't, and I feel for Timothy more than Melanie.

    What Timothy did was wrong. It doesn't matter if they had a mental illness or not. Having bpd is not an exuse to accuse people of rape.
