More than 100 stolen vehicles identified as part of major auto theft probe

Toronto police say they have arrested four suspects and identified more than 100 stolen vehicles as part of a months-long auto theft probe dubbed Project Poacher.

During a news conference on Friday morning, investigators confirmed that 28 charges have now been laid in connection with the case, which was launched in January 2024.

    Do not ever forget that they only started to launch serious investigations into this AFTER Pierre Poilievre made it a federal election issue. Like him or not, he is the ONLY reason they have started to look into these criminals. The criminal code is a federal matter and local police don't bother putting their own safety at risk when they know caught criminals are going to get light sentences.

    This investigation was launched at the start of this year. Auto theft has been up for over 2 years now. This is the same police department that told people to put their car keys outside their front doors. They don't care about your car. They don't care about you. They care now that it's a political issue. Do not let them off the hook just because they've made arrests that are just for show. This is still the weakest-on-crime federal government we've ever had and none of these people will face lengthy sentences or heavy fees over their breaking of the criminal code.

    No matter how much this federal government backtracks on its positions over the coming year, do not forget their true intentions come the 2025 election.
