Poilievre asked to clarify controversial remark about Trudeau's teaching career

Speaking at a press conference in Ottawa on Monday, Conservative Party of Canada Leader Pierre Poilievre was asked to clarify what exactly he was referring to in a pointed comment he made to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during question period in the House of Commons last week.

An-already heated debate during question period last Wednesday took a personal turn when Poilievre mocked Trudeau’s past career as a high school drama teacher.

When Trudeau retorted that he was “having trouble” remembering what Poilievre did before entering politics, the Conservative leader responded that he also was struggling to remember why Trudeau left his former teaching position “right in the middle of the semester.”

Poilievre said Monday he made the jab because Trudeau has a history of not finishing what he starts, in his view. Plus, when asked to clarify what he meant when he asked Trudeau why he left, Poilievre said to ask the prime minister instead.

    Bill Gates the creator of Microsoft….Mark Zuckerberg the creator of Facebook….Steve Jobs the creator of Apple….all have the same thing in common….they were billionaires and left University without obtaining a university degree….Einstein hated school and criticized the education system which did not promote students' creativity and critical thinking….all these famous people perfected their learning by reading a lot of books.

    Even behind stories with no credibility, the idea comes from some place esp when there are so many issues are regarding the same individual esp in that capacity.
    Yes , gaslighting can occur in the workplace but just too many varied stories of different topics with the same results on Trudy

    So, in the House of Commons PP insinuates Trudeau’s wrong doing, then when asked about it pretends he was merely pointing to an incomplete year of teaching. That’s disingenuous. PP definitely intimated a sordid deed. I’m no fan of Trudeau, but PP has shown that he take jabs when he’s threatened (like the 22minutes comedian recently). He’s mean spirited, revels in humiliating others. Then in this case denies his intend. “Who me?” This is high school bully behaviours, not the behaviours of a role model or a parliamentarian.

    I love how Pierre handles reporters. They have no idea how to handle someone with working brain cells turning their "gotcha" questions around on them. Didn't Trudeau leave his teaching job mid semester and immediately call a lawyer? He's pretty bad with numbers so maybe it's because Trudeau didn't realize 17 isn't bigger than 18.
