Sexual Abuse in Thailand's Schools | Politics of Sex

In early 2020, Thailand was in shock when a clip of a school Director molesting a 12-year-old student appeared on social media.

A month later, it emerged that two teenage female students were gang raped by five teachers and two former students for a year. Legal proceedings are ongoing.

Nalinrat was a former sex abuse survivor. Currently a model, she speaks to VICE World News about her own experience in Thailand’s school system.

VICE World News reached out to Nalinrat’s former school and Thailand’s Ministry of Education for comments. We did not receive a response at the time of publication.

This is a case of innocent women meating the wrong place, time, and man with no self control. I belive a man should have self control no matter the circumstances because one person's actions effect everything and everyone around them. Becareful on how you treat people, it may lead to problems you didn't even know were possible. And what ever country this is people should do everything in their power to stop people like this to get away with their crimes; wether the culprit is a child or a senior, woman or man, they should be brought to justice, amen.

If a 6-7/10 girl gets assaulted, you will know theres a huge amount potential victims. Also this is a global problem. School teacher is a low barrier entry job so it can be easy to entry and because adults exp and intelligence and resources have a huge gap, the victims dont stand a chance without other adults actively supporting them.

  • I also got sexual assaulted but not at school. 😡😡😡😡😡😡,When i met again my assaulter i can't even speak anything to my family because it's too embarassing . Also what's the point to tell that story for me it's already so many years . I hate myself can't do anything for that. But now i don't let anyone do that to me anymore. I am much more stronger now not mean pysically but mentally

  • Weeeww teachers can touch the children like parents. Which parents touch their kid like what she said ?which parent. Event parent that's still called sexual assault.

it is also funny how some of these hate comments come from women themselves. It is crazy how the world is but I salute those who speak about their experiences bravely.

  • @mesamis144 June 17, 2024

in any societies , they all blame, insult and look down on women. I wish I could be male

  • @lotharlights June 17, 2024

Hasn't VICE supported people who have abused children in the past?

  • @PrimarchRegalious June 17, 2024

As soon as somebody is within six feet of you, or I, we have both lost the right to live. There is no right to live, it's a shame people are lying about The US Constitution and what it contains. The second amendment tells some of us in plain, abrupt english that nobody has the right to live. ✌🏼 ⭐

sadly those who being confident going out with very liitle clothes on their body barely got raped, but they caused troubles for innocent girls and women. Because those street girls may not be beautiful, they give (bad) men bad thoughts about female, then they start their crimes on those who are beautiful to them. It is fact that this situation on innocent females are because of how quickly morality in our society is going down, when girls keep wearing "sex"y in public. Note that I blame some females but NOT the victims (unless they are street girls and i know most of the victims aren't)

  • @mommyayachi June 17, 2024

    Im so sorry for her..

  • @avg_joe117 June 17, 2024

How about male victims of sexual assault? I think that they are silenced too because men are supposed to be tough enough to handle it.

  • Huh… They wear bad open cloths and wanted to not being assaulted…. Really illogical…

  • @stevenwan9561 June 17, 2024

She is so brave to speak up and care for the future of Thailand youth.

  • @vhty-jk4gz June 17, 2024

  • @ysan.malazarte June 17, 2024

that's a brave of her to talk about this sensitive things.

  • @AanyaSharma-ri9wm June 17, 2024

The fact that she is being blamed by reasons like "you sexually aroused him" how can people even say that?? women can wear whatever they want and that does not give anyone the right to sexually assault them

  • @norman6499 June 17, 2024

Every school has a chance of incident like this happening, just a matter of high chance or slim chance…thats why parents need to educate their kids how to defend and prevent

  • @starrshort6403 June 17, 2024
