Sexual Assault of Men Played for Laughs – Part 2 Female Perpetrators

• WATCH PART 1:

It’s hard to overstate just how common jokes about men being sexually assaulted or harassed are in entertainment media. Comedic situations are typically designed to demean, humiliate, or emasculate a male character for being the victim, or potential victim, of sexual violence. This is the 2nd of two video essays on this topic. Part 1 focuses on humor involving men sexually assaulting or harassing other men. Part 2 examines media in which women are depicted as the perpetrators.

Even our courts reinforce that female teachers assaulting male students is OK by giving blatantly more lenient sentences for the same crime. Importantly the FBI study that revealed teenage boys that are sexually taken advantage of have the same psychological problems to the same intensity as teenage girls who were taken advantage of.

Since they introduced the character of Anissa from Invincible, I wonder how they're going to portray THAT scene from the comics. Already, a lot of men were joking about it.

"I'd let her do that to me" or "she'll need to run from me" is a common thing guys have said on Twitter.

Thank you for doing this video and going into this.

  • @littlesisterisback June 22, 2024

I’ve waited 4 years to be old enough to register and watch this, I can’t believe part 1 with males weren’t age restricted but the female one is. That’s crazy to me

The fact that Homer was raped as a joke twice is so gross

23:52 I remember seeing this scene in Doctor Who and being glad that the Doctor didn't just roll over and accept it. Made me uncomfy.

  • @brigadier-tc8565 June 22, 2024

How the hell was the best example of how it should be treated was Peep Show!? They genuinely support Mark, in their own ways, but they continually comfort him and make it clear that he was raped, and that it wasn't his fault

  • @Crazyhead432 June 22, 2024

Yeah this happens in real life

  • @enderfox1699 June 22, 2024

Thank you very much for this video. People are influenced by television nowadays days and rape is a joke when the girl does it to the man.
I think I was assaulted by a girl smacking my bottom when I was 13. I felt confused, who was it? I didn't know what it meant.
Sometimes people don't know what assault or sexual assault is and this video clears it up

  • @laikla510 June 22, 2024

I never really understood why people find the predatory nature of teacher/student relations as something thats acceptable and that it has no affect on the boy. Plus the common use of "technically" so they don't need to commit to what they are saying happened.

  • @Gayredheadbitch94 June 22, 2024

Consent isn’t gendered, if someone doesn’t consent or isn’t comfortable. It’s assault

  • @PainfullySubjective June 22, 2024

    comment, for the algorithm gods

  • The fact that part two of this is age restricted and part one isn't is fucked up.

  • @rud5101 June 22, 2024

I hate how people don't realize how harmful toxic masculinity is to men as well as women. Even I still sometimes don't even register how messed up a scene with a male victim is until I consider how it would look with the sexes reversed. The idea that a male always has power over a female, and thus cannot be taken advantage of, is something our society needs to take a real hard look at.

  • the comic book y the last man is one of the only things ive ever seen that make a woman rping a man horror

  • One of the main reasons I could never get into the movie super

  • @SBGClub-pi7tk June 22, 2024

Wow. I never thought of it until after this. It was always like a weird icky feeling in the back of my mind that I felt embarrassed to bring up.

  • @PissWarlock June 22, 2024

Boy, that Mindy Project clip sure did age, didn’t it?

  • @Oliver-yc5fi June 22, 2024

I hope one day writers take this more seriously. 11 months after this video Bridgerton season 1 came out and a women raped a man but it's not explicitly painted that way. She wanted kids and he didn't, it became a "this is what he gets for lying" sort of deal. I was rather upset about the whole thing. The couple eventually makes up sort of and he gives her a child. I like to imagine (even though it's not true) that his character is just giving her kids and then "nope"ing right out of there.

24:02 And some men may not be interested in sex with certain women. He simply may not be attracted to some women while being attracted to others

  • @user-fl6wn8rj2d June 22, 2024

I even laughed about this and now it disgusts me because i laughed at this and yet it is against what i believe in.

  • @heinzbeans2117 June 22, 2024

Age restricted? Really? Didn’t see an age restriction on part one. Wonder what the difference is? What could it possible be????
