Investigative reporter Simona Weinglass leads a #BBCEye investigation into a criminal network, believed to have scammed more than a billion dollars from victims across the globe.

The organisation sponsored a top-tier football club to promote its online trading platform, promising investors the chance of astonishing returns. But what lies behind the claims? The search – from a mansion in London, to a forest in Scandinavia and a call centre in Georgia – reveals a web of deceit. We hear from victims, undercover agents and police, in a bid to track down who’s in charge.

15/03/24: This programme is the subject of a legal complaint by Mr Kezerashvili, who says its contents as they relate to him are false and defamatory.

Simona wineglass- will be better to focus on all the boiler rooms and call centers originating within TLV first, you don't think?

It's nice you flew all the way to Georgia- but all these ppl you are looking for have IL passports and residencies. How surprising is it that they all act with impunity then??

Also- EVERFX – started there, and quite easy to look for in HA or TLV

So brave exposing these criminal individuals who team together to rip people of around the Globe hiding behind digital fences, behaving like cowards who lie and extort vulnerable employees to run their fraudulent companies to generate stolen money from the innocent public.

  • @harlokeane6106 July 4, 2024

The vocal fry though… ooof 😅

  • @SuperSkandale July 4, 2024

Interesting story but listening to this woman drag on every word that finishes the sentence as she is 5 years old gets tiring at some point.

  • @servewithstyle5063 July 4, 2024

When it's being covered by media, kinda too late. 😢😮

  • @JasonP6339 July 4, 2024

Why does it almost sound like you gave AI a composite of your voice to practice on and then allowed it to read the rest of your script? There are simple wording errors that a human would not read over in the way that the narrating voice reads over them and yet it happens multiple times in the narration……

    Bee keeper

  • @bbltd.3154 July 4, 2024

Well done. So are they ALL Jewish guys scamming people, or…? 😮

  • @trilithon108 July 4, 2024

Georgia and Ukraine wants to be in the EU 😮 If some guy from third world Georgia wants to rent a high priced place in London doesn't anyone take a good look at him? 🎉
These football clubs. Instead of shrugging their shoulders because their fans lose money as the scammers rake in millions, shouldn't their due diligence be extra careful?
Who owns the company? Can we meet him/them – demand an absolutely thorough background check. Where is this company registered? Are there any other associated offshore accounts? Is this company connected to any shell companies? That should be just the beginning. 🤑

Watching from Australia where it’s rife. Good to rely on the old adage ‘if it seems too good to be true, it usually is’

  • @BrianSmith-gp9xr July 4, 2024

Where was the money initially sent. ? A bank? in one day red flags would close it down. Only the Ciaclops could pull off such a scam. No one can set up a fake crypto without licences and business accounts . Permits. and then be able to withdraw it all unnoticed. This is just a smoke screen. BBC? Ya right. No one can carry a billion dollars. It would be worthless. Gold . Too heavy..
Jewels. Nope. There is a government behind this fraud. A simulation? That is a new one.. The scammers can't be traced ? Deposite in bitcoin ? Can't be done.

  • @seakoko July 4, 2024

Be careful of the review site "Truss Pie-lot" (not actual but similar sounding name) as they are paid by scammers to remove bad reviews and only publish the scammers' own positive reviews. These review companies are complicit in the scams and direct new people to the scammers.

  • Simona Wineglass? Lol that's the best you could do?

  • @anwar.bfd786 July 4, 2024

You can run a background check online

  • @Stormlucy111 July 4, 2024

The football club should ve made to pay back everyone who invested because of their ad. They used their players to portray investors.

  • @irisli8979 July 4, 2024

    谢谢。太可怕了,这个世界的骗子横行,没有人能惩罚他们

  • bribe,currupt

  • @nedlowe8344 July 4, 2024

How many British MPs were making bank on the back of this scam?

  • @remotettl July 4, 2024

well, trust is bad. trust to much and you lose all sooner or later. believing in dream, huge profits from nowhere always leads to bad result. those who believe, well, i know its hard and harsh to say, but its they own fault. if someone promises you billion if you give them 5 millions, would you? same with these schemes…. for me it just seems stupid, how, HOW someone can believe in fairy tales and believe its actually real and legit…. gosh. everything has price – naive, being one, too.

  • @DrekRivers July 4, 2024

''trade up your future'' i see what you did there. nice one

  • Greed!

  • @blackadder564 July 4, 2024

I thought this was about Rings of Power.

  • @TonyMontana-ks3qh July 4, 2024

This philosophy of ‘Control’ can be applied to almost all investment within reason… stocks/shares/cryptocurrencies etc… learn to buy and manage the investment directly.. there are many platforms that allow you to do so hence the risk and reward is with you….. Phil and Joyce was never in control of their underlying investment.. the control was with a third party provider… had they adopted the control philosophy they would have invested directly into the cryptocurrency on other platforms and soon realised that the returns depicted by the proposer was entirely false… (point to note: this is not in any way giving financial or any regulatory investment advice … I’m solely giving my opinion based on this stream…)

  • @TonyMontana-ks3qh July 4, 2024

What is control?… option A: a proposer group depicting that I can get 20% return in my investment by investing in their company which deals in real estate.. once invested I’m ultimately given up control and I’m at the mercy of the business being legitimate…hence control is with the proposer… option B: I buy a real estate asset myself and investigate with other proposer on how I can ascertain a 20% return… I was only able to ascertain a 12% gross return and had to forfeit 4% expenses but ultimately I’m in control of the asset….

  • @TonyMontana-ks3qh July 4, 2024

… essentially has the basic marketing of most high profile scams… try to legitimise the scam by associating it with credible business and associates…. Point to note for people in society…. Try not invest in schemes where ‘Actual Control’ of the assets/funds etc is depicted by the proposers… hence your giving up control… ask yourself who ultimately is controlling the underlying investment? if it’s not you then the risk of you being scammed is high

  • @wandakowalski7063 July 4, 2024

The only way these companies will be shut down is when there are no suckers ….er …. customers. As long as there are naive, greedy people who believe that they can earn ridiculous sums as return on their investments, the more these companies will grow and prosper.

  • @sondrajean955 July 4, 2024

    Sounds similar to SBF-FTX.

  • @jamiestewart7327 July 4, 2024

I thought this was about the case against HSBC for laundering cartel money. But nope, they have business cards

  • Anonymous July 4, 2024

Biggest fraud in history: our own brain promises us intelligent behavior.

  • @carl-in1jz July 4, 2024

Anything and everything Elon Musk Tesla, Space X is a lie, a scam. Don't ride the scam.

  • @cheetoesgal5229 July 4, 2024

I am trying hard to focus on what is transpiring in this video but the narrator's little-girl voice and occasional vocal fry are exceedingly irritating. BBC, next time, get someone to narrate who sounds like an adult and not like a 12 year old so you don't lose your audience!

  • @lazylad8544 July 4, 2024

These people and companies trade on greed. People want more and are lured in.

  • @MrAntonis1970 July 4, 2024

    Worst ever voice for documentaries

  • @MrJahvyn July 4, 2024

Taxes… That's the billion dollar scam, councils in England bankrupt and taxes are potentially going higher someone needs to find out how the government is actually spending our money.

  • @user-cn5ri5he4c July 4, 2024

This woman's voice is like fingernails grating against a blackboard! Who can liten to this? Grotesque!
